Right ah'm off for me bath. Yep it's that time of the year again. Gud nite all.

well if yer really want ter discuss the TATA takeover then i'll discuss it with you.

TATA are one of the largest independant companies in the world, they own both hoogovens steel and corus steel to name but two of the companies they bought out . thy make strong robust vehicles and have done for many years. i dont think they would throw the kind of money into landrover and jaguar that they have and then shut them down. these guys arent backward 3rd world corner shop owners, they are industry moguls. there is nothing to fear or **** yourself over.

so give me a valid argument then briw, or are you just following the rest of the ducks that think tata are only famous for the loadbeta

no i aint. look back to 70s and how leyland and all others stood still while japan kept on developing, such as honda in bikes n cars.4 wheel steer systems , vtec engines. but must also be wary of costing to any set up in long term and viability to move developments elswhere

how can you compare now to the 70's ffs. the only reason the british motor industry went to rack and ruin was because of the lazy bastards that worked in it and their fookin left wing unions

have you ever seen a honda built in swindon such as old concerto. and a civic then produced in japan. totally different qual control. argument can go either way. only time will tell

yes i have seen a honda built in swindon, ive also seen a nissan builtt in sunderland and a toyota built in branston. ive also seen a rover built in ,longbridge and a landrover built in both solihull and halewood. they are miles apart mate. ffs its funny how both bmw and ford did absoluteluy **** all for landrover, then when an induustry giant buys landrover everyone starts ****ting themselves. ffs tata could buy and sell bmw five times over

Evenin!

Just in and managed to catch up wiv yer fred (was chasin yer tail so sorry if this is already out of date, hope yer dint mind! ) - am with Yella on this one, i think TATA will prob be a good move for Landy. I worked for a bit with a chap who worked in Rover in the 70s and 80s and said that pretty much all the night-shift work force were complete alcoholics who fell asleep, weren't managed (coz the managers were asleep ****ed up) and then moaned constantly about their rights, and fook all work got done at all - and all that before Honda came along and tried to show brits how to do it properly. (which dint really work coz we were all too busy complaining about too much work to actually do any)

I reckon that within the decade there will be 3 car makers in the world - VAG (Audi, Seat, VW, Bugatti, etc) Ford (with all the volvo etc ancillaries - and don't forget they are a large stakeholder in TATA and various japanese ones dint they own mitsubishi or summat?) and another - and with India goin the weay it is in the world market, i wouldn't be surprised if it were TATA! Economies of scale is pretty important in the new car market!

ffs briw, you keep saying only time will tell. what sort of a statement is that. its not even a fookin valid argument. its the sort of thing your ****ing granny would say. only time will tell what ffs???
