My iphone doesn't seem to want to charge from the ciggy charger in my defender using a usb cable and 12v adaptor. It's definatly not the cable because the same set up works in the transit and my old fiesta. However in the landy it charges for no more than a few seconds before displaying 'this accessory is not supported' (it also charges for longer when I turn the headlights off haha!). Has anyone else had this problem or know of any solution?
Cheers

Is it a genuine Apple charger? If not, it's hopeless. Apple chargers have a chip in that phone recognises (or the other way around I can't remember). It was to apparently stop people getting cheap chargers and them catching on fire. More like paying extortionate Apple prices for their kit.

Yep it's a genuine apple cable and adaptor so that shouldn't be a problem. And my point is it works perfectly in other cars it's just when I'm the landy I get this message and I can't work out why

Well that's odd. Funnily enough same thing happened to me about a week ago but when I plugged it in again the next time I had no further problems.

maybe it's a bit crusty.. or the connections are.

sure your alt + bat are working properly if you headlights reduce power
