Hello all,

Hope the new lockdown isn't affecting you all too much.

I have an intermittent wiper issue where when I turn it on t doesn't immediately kick in. Sometimes it takes 30 or so seconds to start moving, sometimes longer sometimes its straight away. Would this be a relay issue or something more systemic?

Hi, see if this happens if you turn it to fast wipe directly few times,... if on fast works right away the motor is ruled out if it's the same on fast too the most suspect is the motor. The fault can be caused by many things so troubleshooting is needed, important to know is which parts are involved for each function so:
1. intermittent : switch - IDM(interior fusebox) - BCU - motor
2. slow : switch - IDM - motor
3. fast : switch - motor

Brilliant, I will try this in a bit and see where it gets me.

Been a while since I have been able to get on here but I have tried the above to see what happens. If I put the fast wiper on first it typically works straight away and then as I switch back each one works most of the time. Sometimes the slow and intermittent are delayed to start but get there eventually after half a minute-ish. Would you think that this may be the IDM?

MIght be IDM or weak contacts in the stalk too, you should try with a known good stalk first to rule it out and if it's the same then it's the IDM
