Mine is like this one. Glare control adjusts how much the LCD dims when the sensor see headlights from behind. Easy to test with a torch as well.

Wow that's posh, what year? trim?

Suppose it just goes to show they changed it to various, and stuck on what was available :vb-confused2: .

Here is mine on a MY 2000 DHSE. You can just see the sensor top centre that picks up headlights behind and auto dips, just a black dot. Simple and very effective.

Think it was on the HSE or maybe as an option. MrGorsky had one on his until it bled and after looking at the price of a replacement he put a bog standard one on like mine. Cannot say I have ever had an issue with mine.

I seem to have started something here..

So this is my mirror. With 'fluid level' I mean the arc where you have a color difference. If you press your finger on the 'bronze' part the arc moves up, seems to be some kind of liquid. No signs of leakage outside the mirror though.

Aren't mirror fitments all the same? Twist on twist off?
Nope mine is slide on/off. According to RAVE mirror fitment changes from MY 2000 onwards.

If I find a cheap l320 type mirror I might try the conversion (glass looks the same as on picture Datatek posted btw).
