all u needed to do is turn the fuel pump up abit and turn the boost up on the turbo !
thats all i did with mine until i fitted some new 35 inch rubber (simex)

Oops, oh well never mind, 'tis done now, well sort of, just have to get the thing fitted.

Don't feel sorry about that, feeding the engine cold air is like eating your veggies, not necessary but Always A Good Thing.

Besides, with the cooler fitted you're in a better position if/when you tweak the injection and the turbo...

I was also looking to change all the pipes as I'm sure they are 14 years old. I shouldn't think there will be any performance difference, but I'm told the better pipes will not expand or burst when the turbo pressure is increased (and they are a cool blue colour).

Go to scrap yard get intercooler from large Jap car fit in front of radiator. Pipe into existing intercooler and air filter. Adjust Bosch pump slightly. Check and if needed reset Turbo pressure , adjust and reset wastegate as required. If now smoking open diaphram on pump mark starwheel and turn down in quarter turn increments until smoking stops. You should now have a faster and more powerful vehicle at minimum cost. Worked well for me. But would be very careful on later fly by wire engines. ------BB
