I insure all my motors with Adrian flux and up to now their service has been good, so the other day I was trying to find my documents so i could tax the disco, all I could find was the letter they sent saying that my insurance was due for renewal and if I didn't contact them in the next week it would automaticaly renew, the price was good so I just let it carry on......or so I thought!!!

The useless ****s had not insured me(even though I had a letter saying they would) so I've been driving round with no insurance without knowing!

as you would imagine I'm bloody fuming!!!!!!!!

Adrian flux screwed me this week ,offered insurance renewal for 148quid online which I bought there and then and paid in full, they then ring me yesterday to say that I have provided false information as they have checked google earth and can't see any possible way that my landy is garaged at night at home and that I declared it as an estate which i did not ,they did when i filled out the auto fill box with my reg no and they wont insure a landy van back so they cancelled the policy and took 30 quid admin for themselves.after an hour and a half on the phone they transfered me to a company called mac who checked google earth and said we can see garages clear as day and gave me green lane cover and off road ,and recovery ,and legal cover for 215 quid .they then tried to take the 30 quid again at which point they were told "no ****ing way you have already had that" so they agreed to wave the admin fee. They also said that if I had an accident on the first policy I wouldn't have been covered so I asked for last years 300 quid back as they have admitted that the policy was invalid therefore providing no service for cash paid ,don't think i've got a prayer though. It all sounded a bit like a manager looked a the days sales and went "thats too cheap" to his staff and then looked for an excuse to cancell the ****er,tossers .

Don't go near Budget or Ibuyeco ( one in the same company), they are cheap, but customer service is non existant after you've handed over full payment. The foreign staff get right ****ty n rude if ya can't understand their accent. We cancelled with them a month ago (renewal was due), they still took money from my bank.... took x3 attempts to call (they hang up after 20mins @ 5p minute so you ring again), before finally sending an email threatening solicitor action before they rang us back, refunding money and chucking in £25 for good measure. Still ****ed at them.

Not sure what landy you drive but a RRC is listed as an estate ont he v5.

I got insured wit them for my 1990 RRC this year for the first time , and my bmw but it was on the phone- Im still alittle worried after whats been said :(

I drive a 90 van back but the autofill function pulled it up as an estate so i thought this must be how they class it as my mates frontera swb 3 door commercial is classed the same and he dont have rear seats. I don't think anyone could argue that a rrc is classed as an estate because thats exactly what it is really so I wouldn't worry mate and you did it over the phone which is what I will do next time.

Insurance is the biggest illegal scam going, it is a ligal monopoly due to them not all being the same company, but if they all put their prices up for whatever reason they decide, we have to pay it! They charge what they want and we have to pay. There is no rhyme or rhythm to the prices either, mine range from 900 to 7000!! How is that possible!? Il stop before I explode!! Haha

All insurance is a scam.

I've just had my renewals through for buildings and contents. Last years insurer have quoted me at £295 and £560 respectively. More than double last year despite the fact that I have not made a claim in over 10 years!

Got onto a well known comparison site and Sheilas wheels came up with £41 for contents and £155 for buildings! The cover is better than what Lloyds were offering and I know that their claims proceedure is fine as my brother is going through one with them now after a house fire, 16 weeks in a hotel and a whole new kitchen!!

Is it loyds that are offering £50 cash if you can find a better deal even if you dont take theirs ,might be worth a try.

My chav box insurance renewal came through the other day. Last year I paid £240 with £60 cash back making it £180. My renewal was for £414. They rang me up to ask if I wanted to renew. I told em that there was no way at the price they quoted. They told me that insurance had gone up by 37% this year. That's great I said....cos mine has gone up by 250% with no claims, points, convictions etc??????:confused::confused:

I gave em my best quite of just under £240 and asked em to match it. They rekoned they couldn't get anywhere near that and then played pass the parcel with me with all their sister companies to try and beat it. None of em could get near it. After a quick compare the meerkat and all that bollox I got a better quote of £234 with £50 cashback......FROM MY CURRENT INSURER!!!!!!!!!

I rang em up. Turns out that they will only give a max of 5 years no claims bonus if you deal with em direct. By me doing it on compare the meerkat and the other search engines it allowed me to use the full 13 years no claims that we have. I bought the more expensive £240 policy purely so I wouldn't line the pockets of con artists like SWINTON INSURANCE who wanted to fleece me.

In my opinion if insurance is a legal requirement then the govt should privide a third party only scheme at a single rate that every one can afford regardless of what your car or age ,if every one used it the govt would pay it's debts off easily and the rest of the industry would have to be alot cheaper to compete.

Also agreed! As i say there is too much variance. You don't see mot prices varying that much!! That's a ligal requirement!

I`ve been with the NFU since 2003, full no claims on a 2002 Defender 110 TD5. They have been very good and I`ve had no problems with them
Last year I paid £302 fully comp, my renewal has come through, £522.
Or put another way, gone up over 70%.
I queried their mistake - not a mistake, just "general market increase" plus the claims experience of my postcode and claims experience on 4x4`s generally.
I won`t be renewing with them

general market increase my arse!! general **** them over and put more money in the big wigs pockets more like!

yup , just like MPs not having there pensions touched and council leaders getting a payrise while they lay off the bin men.

its always working Joe who gets screwed every time

Yeh, but as we all kno, the bankers are at the top of the chain. No matter what happens money is constantly pouring into his pocket. Including the governments money! Yeh recession but they are forced to scrape by with only a £50mil bonus!
