can anyone in landy land come up with an answer to this paticular problem. we are trying to find landrover for a young lad who has just passed his test which model of landy would be cheaper to insure he is only 18yrs old and has been quoted £4.400.00 yes that is FOUR THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED QUID!!!!! any advice would be greatfully recieved, ron.

i have been trying to find insurance for the last couple of weeks as well and have had to give in as it just doesn't seem possible, unless you can qualify for the NFU (need to have had a family member with them for several years...)
I'm going to drive a polo for a couple of years before insurance hopefully gets cheaper once i have a couple of no claims (hopefully!) and then plan to get a landy in 2 years or thereabouts.

ju:)st sorted thanks for the advice been onto the young farmers they are willing to insure him for £1.850.00 considering the other quotes he got was between £4.950.00 and £5.350.00 dont think its too bad. REEESULT.:rolly:

I had a similar problem when I wanted to buy my sisters 'P' reg 2.5 discovery, they wanted £1,500+ to cover me, I ended up going with CO-Operative insurance in the end for about £700 odd on a 2004 3.2L Shogun (insurances really don't make sence!) I get a cheaper quote for a newer vehicle with a bigger engine.. go figure!
