The red cable should be attached to the +-side of the coil, he? Also if the coil is balasted? How can I check if it is balasted? You need to bypass the ballast resistor ,its the ceramic rectangle on the bulkhead

I can't tell from the photo but there should be a collar that slips over the centre surrounded the rotor arm, have you got that on? If you have one on then the red pick up thing looks to be a bit far away from it. Have you got a spark from the king lead? Has your carbon rod fell out of your dizzy cap?
You might just see in the photo below a black ring under the rotor arm, reluctor I think it's called; it triggers the module as it spins with the rotor arm.+1 on that, I can't see the trigger for the pick up in the photo.
