Before I take them out to give them a bit of a treat, what do I need to put them back in regarding washers etc? The manual tells me there are steel sealing washers with a corrugation, and copper washers too. What's that all about?

4 copper washers, 4 sealing washers at the tips. Fit them the right way up, and make sure there are no old washers down the holes.
Use a pencil to get the old steel washers out, and loosen them with a screwdriver if needed.

Great thanks. Now to source them. Living in Spain is a pain in the arse sometimes.

I downloaded the parts manual to get part numbers. I should be able to get hem locally with those, or have them ordered in (the steel ones probably).

Cheers for your help!

Post script: If anyone else needs the part numbers for any reason - steel washers 12H220L, and copper washers 247179
