I think they pretty much nailed it, I like the look a lot its like an amalgamation of the Defender and a G Wagon. Cant wait to see it in the flesh.

We won’t know that for sure until we’ve found if they fixed all of the Defender’s foibles without changing the overall appearance any more than necessary.
It looks great (odd squares on the doors and rubbing strips aside), but if there’s proper space inside the cab and it’s civilised and dust proof, their designers will have achieved a miracle :)

Do like the look of it - time will tell once we see the full spec and just how much it'll cost (and how easy it will be to add on the various modifications and extras that many of us love). I've seen various comments about engines and transmissions being imported and how costs might be affected if import tariffs are dished out once Brexit goes through....no doubt time will tell.
Like the look of the split rear door as well and some pictures show a kind of split Freelander type sunroof. Looking forward to see how it goes and if JLR might have missed a trick themselves o_O Still love my old 90 though...and I'll probable never be able to afford one of these anyway
 
Rear numberplate will have fallen off with the first heavy bag of cement being slid into a wheelbarrow.
Nice engine they're using.
 
Looks like a Defender 110 some say, but I recon it's more like a Foers Ibex. [ older version ] Then when something is designed for much the same job you get the same thing. As an example the bicycle has been around a long time and many have tried to redesign it but they are mostly the same, two equal sizes wheels and rider on top. Tractors, big wheels at the back smaller ones at the front.

Lots of bike got different size wheels between front and rear

Never heard of that. They stopped selling the tratter in the 90's to merka for general safety reasons. Like not having air bags.
 
I can see why people like it. But Defenders like mine are an anachronism; retro is a dead end.
What we need is a capable, rot resistant, reliable and fixable platform that is easily adapted for multiple uses.
I favour something like the new Defender only cheaper and less complex. That it is a foreign product, and has a fussy front end does not help either but at least it is the result of forward thinking.
