How's this.... I have always maintained that having a tracker does nothing to reduce your premium in most cases...
Hastings Direct quoted me for a mondeo yesterday.... as soon as they said "does it have a tracker" I naturally said that it did.
"Oh they said.. that will push the premium up"
"UP?", I said..."Why's that?"
"Because firstly it adds to the value of the vehicle... and secondly when a vehicle is stolen and damaged we prefer that it is NOT recovered"
Apparently if the vehicle IS recovered then the original owner is allowed to insist on an expensive repair rather than accepting write off status. With this in mind the Insaurance company would prefer to assist the thief to keep your vehicle....
How ****ed up is THAT!
I know, I know, but the Modeo cost me a little less than a new headlamp for the chrysler... and I needed a second car for the school run now we have four children at four different schools!FCUK me another vehicle a mondeo. how many motors you gone through in a year!
Just had a reasonable quote from Adrian Flux - £373 for a van converted to a station wagon. Lancaster quoted £900! NFU Mutual were somewhere in the middle at £531.
