Right, there is a common link in the circuits that can give the problem you describe. I won't go into the details unless you want me to. The first thing to do is to open the interior fuse box door under the steering wheel. In there I recommend you make sure that fuse 8 has not blown. Use your drivers manual to identify fuse 8, its rated at 15A. This fuse powers the instruments and the indicators.
While your at it, check fuse 6, which is 10 amps and powers the engine management unit.
If both fuses are okay, ie the link wire isn't ruptured, then the common component is the ignition switch, and both these fuses are supplied by the same wafer of that switch. Your local dealer will be able to get you a replacement, alternatively an independent LR garage should be able to help you also.
If you find either or both of these fuses are ruptured then report back here and we'll move to the next step.
