Hello all,
I'm experiencing the old immobiliser issue. She's been sitting in a town centre car park since Friday afternoon. The doors wouldn't unlock with the fob (which is often intermittent but always works in the end) so I unlocked with the engine key and she wouldn't start. I've taken the key fob in to a locksmith, changed battery, but still won't unlock car. I'm on day 4 Uber-ing, have a new fob due to arrive tomorrow, but then there's the coding issue. I also have my EKA code, tried using that on the door, but no luck. Is there anything I can do in the mean time? Please please help!!

Did you follow the instructions for the EKA code to the letter from your owners manual?

Cheers

You mean the engine key in the door, rabbit hat trick? :) I've tried it off and on for days but I must not be turning it properly.... not easy to hear the clicks as the garage is quite loud

I don't have the manual. Using the EKA 4-digit code I've put the key in the door and turned clockwise and counter clockwise as I was advised to do by the local dealerahip. Is this what you're referring to?

Yes, I think they told you wrong.

Hmmmm.... yes this is what I tried to do, but I need to have a closer look at the diagram as I had only their instructions over the phone. However, now that I've made several attempts over the past few days, does this mean as it reads in the bottom "note" that trying the code again after failed attempts is no use? They mentioned a hard reset with the battery... would that allow me to try reentering the EKA code again?
Cheers!

Where did you read that??

I suggest you get a couple of strong lads and put the engine in the back of a truck and take it somewhere more apt :)

I spent 4 hours in the parking garage on Friday going through this, step by step. and as I read the instructions, it seems I should have driven her home by now. Alarm light just continues to flash away. Is there anything else that could be affecting the start? Unless my code is wrong I don't know what else to do. Does RAC have the ability to recode if a new fob is purchased?
