I have thought about this quite a lot as mine is going to have to be rebuilt sooner or later.

My favourites were either G4 orange or black with bright green bits such as the steering guard.

The final decision was to keep it rioja red as it it quite a nice colour (and a lot less effort), and have everything else like the chequer plate matt black
 
This is something I've thought a lot about as my 110 is in dire need of a proper spray job.

Thinking AA Yellow, with steps, lockers, wing top protectors and roof (canvas) in matt black. It's a common colour scheme here in the States for 90s and looks really clean.
 
I've resprayed mine and kept the colour identical.....

Blue with all the additional bits in black, just added bonnet chequer plate in black today and wing ones in the next few days. There are some shiny metal bits such as a shiny galvanised steering guard and diff guards.
