What price do peeps think it would cost to totally rewire a small 2 bedroom house. The house next to us has been sold
& for 2 days work to rewire it he's been quoted 7.5k

Its a bit of "how long is a bit of string"
We dont know how many sockets/what type, how extensive is the rewire. New fuse box new scokets+boxes, access (floorboards up?)
2 days work sounds like the house is pretty gutted.

I dont know the prices in the UK of elecy bits now, but think that sounds a little bit too much TBH.

Will it also give the required certs when finished.

I had a big rat in a shed at work today and it was that busy it didn’t see me which was a mistake. Nipped out of the shed and fetched a 20 gauge, then went back into the shed and said bye to mr rat🫢
Dust pan and brush to clean it up then and wash the walls down
Trap not tripped yet.
He can smell you need to rub the trap with composed

Don't you have to have registered certificates now for rewiring.

Yes and no. It seems a little gray area to me.

I have also rewired houses, and am confident its ok. but that wouldnt stand in the UK now.
But 🤔.

Especially if selling the property later on.

Probably yes if they knew🤔. We have had to get electrical "safe" certs for our rentals but they dont have to be done every year like the gas 1s.

But in this case it sounds like a "pro" outfit for a complete job in which case they should give a cert. But its too much money IMO.

Mornin
Drizzle early on but brightening up
Not be needing factor 50 in Scotland by the looks of it 🤔
Got me tools in the boot and a brolly, goin round to GF's to pick up her bags then see if there's any room left for mine 🤣
Should be heading north shortly, hoping for 35mpg+ from the FL
Still trying to figure out how to work the parking sensors
Stay busy all 🙂

Wow get 40 out the defender at 70 mph 😮

When we or the dogs get one we put white spirit on it which they don't like then take it out very carefully with either the proper tool or tweezers. I believe the problem occurs when they have satiated themselves with your blood and then inject you with the nasties.😱. The expensive dog pills work a treat, don't fink thay do em for yumans. Don't like the Idea of one getting that deep.
I normally put a drop of iodine on and thay let go but that one had got it's head right in deep would not let go , we put tick shots on the cat perhaps I should try it 😕

I know when Manchester council for my inherited house for my mother at the time. When they altered the shower for a walk in and later adding through floor lift + ceiling bed lift a electrician later gave us certificates for the jobs. Might be related to the council only as part of the Grant.🤔

Depends on the number of out lets each socket is normally £35 then if a new board with trips depending on type but with a rewiring more work is involved floor bords lifting chasers and plastering?

Wow! That depends on the house I guess, but that sounds way over the top. Used to be you could DIY and then call the electricity board to come and do a safety check. Nowadays everything has to be NICIEC certified (or whatever has now superseded that). I would be inclined to get a lot of quotes.

But thats major work and a (council property?) so yes it needs checking.

But if “joe public” runs a new socket he should get it checked unless he/she/other is competent. It’s the competent bit that has probably prompted the new rules;).
