W just told me about the huge fire on Dartmoor.

Thanks mate. Much appreciated.Fingers crossed for you Dan.
You certainly have enough good karma stacked up, time to cash in..
You are a brave man....that I need my bumps felt.
I just covered £11k of business debt for my lad as his start-up venture is getting off the ground.
It stings a bit as the little beggar owes me 35 grand now with this added.
But, on the plus side there is potential for this to make us both a lot of money over a 5 year term.
It is my savings, but they were just sitting there earning naff-all anyway.![]()
Many of them make much sense?![]()
I think that's worthy of post of the week awardHe’s not got enough constructive posts to sell any tat yet
Cheers!You are a brave man.
A neighbour asked me once if he should lend a bloke he knew well, who was deep in financial poop and in danger of losing his house, whether he should lend him I think £15k.
I said obvs it is up to you but at least get a lien, or whatever it is called, on his house.
He did that, the bloke went bankrupt anyway, and my neighbour lost his dosh as appaz in these circs other peeps get their money first.
Bloke had gone to school with my neighbour but together with his wife was a terrible spendthrift.
Amzingly they still spoke after.
I was once in court waiting my case to be heard, chasing a tenant for debt.
Who should be "up" before the beak? Same bloke, for non-payment of rent. Some people just cannot handle money.
This put us both off lending loads of dosh.
But like you we once leant a sizeable sum, about £10k I think, to middle daughter and her husband, again as she was in danger of losing a house or going BR. We too had a lien on the house. Fortunately they dug themselves out of the mess and repaid us every penny.
It is so hard to say no to loved ones. And I think we all know that6 your son has had hard times. Do sincerely hope that his business takes off.
Fingers crossed for you, mate!
He made a good go at it, but that young lad is summink else.Mark is struggling. Needs to win the next ten frames. If he loses just one, its game over.

Seems a shame to have to buy some board.Need to trim me cherry tree. Its about 25 to 30 foot tall. Hangs over me naybors garden. E's bin moaning ferrabit. He dun't seem to like tree's. Anyways eye want to setup me scaffold tower on me grass by said tree so eye can get higher up it. Eye can't climb it as the branches ain't in the right place. To stop it sinking eye was finkering of buying a 4m log scaffold board from bnq to chop into bits to go under the wheels and support legs. Wot does yer fink?
