Not inconsiderable but good to hear it was not as bad as it could have been....that the Wife's car was not the VANOS wreck we had feared.
Needed a new Vanos sensor though.
...and we put a new £293 battery on there too.
Total bill £622.48

Why is the battery so expensive? Is it the one that starts the engine?...that the Wife's car was not the VANOS wreck we had feared.

Its a higher capacity Start-stop affair I think. Why is the battery so expensive? Is it the one that starts the engine?
You can but try ......... and we'll all watch....that I am running an ex-sperry-mint.
I have opened the Velux window in the roof and the loft hatch on the landing (it was like an oven up there in the loft).
My theory is that hot-air rises and so I am expecting the cooler air to sweep in downstairs and rise to the top and out of the house through the roof-window.
Does this idea float, or am I just talking testicles again?
So off to screwfix or BBQ for a new plug then.

Not a bad idea. I have two upstairs windows open and all the downstairs ones shut and a fan going in the living room. It's 10 degrees hotter outside than it is in....that I am running an ex-sperry-mint.

Dont fink there will be any cool air int loft to drop down. Problem is if air goes ootside, ootside air has to come in. The heat figure on the news is the temp in the shade ootside. So yer hafter expect that temp air to come in. Best fing to do is cool yer house at nite un close the windows un curtains int day. Stop hot air in downstairs rooms going upstairs....that I am running an ex-sperry-mint.
