Well i am pleased to say I did no DIY today.
Got some paperwork done, i.e phonecalls to various idiots, then we discovered that gravel is too difficult for a lorry to deliver a 1000 litre bag of topsoil over.
So went to Wickes and Wifey and I put 40 bags in the Disco. 1000 litres at 10p a litre seemed OK, only £10 more than the drop bag!
Did a coupla other bits then went home, a couple of kirs later, in the sun, and that was us for the day!
Chicken Sweet'n'sour with a bottle of rosé, Nice!
Oh and I stabbed our pond with a fork in four places, hoping it will drain overnight.
Will be removing the pump and repurposing the buried lead for a light.:):)

(Or maybe a coffee table, "Wot you think, Jay Blades? (You tosser))
So nite all have a good one and wake refreshed for the morn.
I'm off to bring the cows in!
:):):):)

Mornin' all. Another mild and sunny day 'ere, it's so pleasant that even the big un has got out of 'is pit and gone to lie outside wi the wee one. :D Me? I'm in mi pit wi me cuppa pondering how I am going to proceed with the 'dead' 'van motor mover.

Last evening I made myself a pizza (to my own specification) and I am pleased to say it went down very well. This was a first for me as I am not a fan of shop bought 'ready mades' so never buy them, today's puzzle is what can I try next!

Whatever you are planning for today I hope it all goes well.:)

@derwendolly does the mover use the leisure battery in the van to move it?
Yes, but that is a new high power one which is fully charged - one of these 'gel' ones. The problem is not the power it seems to have gone wrong in the mechanism somehow. The front mechanism turns slowly as it grips the tyre to move it but the rear one is going much, much faster and not really gripping the tyre at all! If I try to move the van using just the front one engaged the whole van is slewing off to the side instead of going forwards or backwards as requested!!
After walking the dogs I will drive to the supplying dealer who I know will say 'we will do it in June/July if you bring it in'. Apart from the very long wait with me not being able to use it in the meantime, I cannot take it there 'cos I can't get it turned round to take it down my drive. This is the first time it has been used! I'm afraid it is a case of a dealer who is eager to sell but not so eager to offer an after-sale service. I am hoping they will be able to recommend a mobile servicing company who are prepared to come here.
