I have just read that the guvmint is phasing out the sale and use of household coal and "wet" wood for open fires and log burners, between 2021 and 23. SO I guess thats the death knell for me open fire, or replacement with a log burner. (Although I have only used it for waste timber up to now). Another chimbly gets bricked up :(.

But you don't burn wet wood, you let it dry for 12 months first.
 
Ma bobbin be ont woshin line post when eye went oot this mownin. Ah be washin un refilld me burd baf un me bobbin came un stood ont me bricks un hopped ter bout lookerin fer wurms. Ah din't put any darn ont chance of him doing this so we be closa ferra while. He flowd oft. After baf filld ah went un got me wurm tub un purrit darn un was settin tup me camera on paint tin wivva nail ter tilt it ferward un me bobbin landed by me ont burd baf wotchin worreye wus doing. He then flowd erway. When eye went int side ah left it cordin un he gorra wurm. Then went back ferranuvva.
