Is it me or has car insurance suddenly jumped in price again?

I got a quote in January and didn't pursue it because I thought it seemed high and I wasn't going to be using the car for a while, might use tempcover, etc.

Got a new quote last week and it was double the one from Jan... wtaf?
After being with Hastings for a few years they bumped the renewal up by a LOT. Usually I call them and negotiate a better deal but as they were already taking the **** I went with Halifax, ‘Er indoors did the same. At first renewal both premiums dropped by a LOT. First time I’ve ever had that 😁

Me new alarm is more complex than the old one. Yer set it tup in a more complex way which is annoying. Eye has got to the stage ov connecting it to the web. It will talk to me router but yer need an installer code for the app which eye dun't av. There be a bit of mystery about this. Companies only allowed to register. Some say yer can blag it wiv 0's to mimic vat and company reg number. Then it wouldn't alloy me to create an account assit said eye already had one. Muster bin years ago eye created that. Sortid out a password reset and got in. Eye have a low level account. Can't see how to change it so to have an installer id code fing. It does confirm a free and paid option so eye is hoping the free will be available if eye ring them or it won't be able to do worreye need. Second option is 500 sovs a year and loads ov options eye dun't need. If gets yer to tick a fing that ses yer have to be er company or responsible fer the alarm yer put in. So that gives me hope.

....that in other "surprise news" the lads lady has been served a notice to quit from her rental in S-on-S and that would render her and her 2 kids homeless. I suspect the landlord has been offered a better deal from the Govt. under operation Scatter.
So, guess where my scheming son thinks they can all pitch up at until they get back on their feet? Go on, have a stab at it!
His lady has a 21YO daughter (not working) who has "needs" and is an attention-seeking suicide precious little flower with every disorder of the noddle you can think of and a boy of 13 who is a really nice lad. I foresee interesting times ahead. :(
Sorry, must be having a bit of a senior moment.
The lad's lady, is the one that left him? If so where do you come in? Cos they are your grandchildren?
And secondly, if a person with kids is made unintentionally homeless, isn't it the council's duty to house them, be it in B'n'B or whatever? Thinking of the 13yr old.

If the 21 yr old has all these mental problems should she not be in some sort of care where she cannot self-harm herself to death?

Dunno all the ins and outs but I wouldn't want to take the responsibility, except maybe for the 13 yr old.

So sorry for all your bad luck with all this, mate. :(
