A whole recycled hippo would make one of these. 🤣

Typical, I just washed the car ...
When we got a water softener I thought great, we can wash the car at home now, previously banned as the scale left behind could only be removed using that scale cleaner that makes it fizz...

The softener isn't great for that, although now not permanent hardness it still leaves a scaly residue, our water is very hard.

So, I wash the car in/after the rain/when there's going to be more rain, using abundant accumulated rain water, or water condensed out of the A/C :)

Do you have a water butt, or two?
Water softeners being what they are, the deposit might be salt or salt compunds.

@kevstar is younger and not scared of I phone like you and me 😮

I used to have i phones until I smashed my last one, the misses had a noo upgrade samsung android which took a bit of
getting used to. The i phones are more difficult to set up, new account set up then link all your stuff so its a pita if you loose
your phone & need to get back into your account if you cant remember passwords ect.

Buzby days are over.... 🤣 🤣

Issit a samsung?
Good question!!!

Nope. Though I did a ton of research and was fascinated to discover that iPhone and Samsung dominate the mobile phone sales to the tune of about 92%. More or less equally.

I discovered all sorts of interesting facts like if an average Turkish worker wanted to buy the latest iPhone, it would cost him about 46% of his annual salary!!!
And that we are only second to the Merkins in use of or ownership of mobiles.

Yes its ion exchange so the hardness ions are replaced by salt ions. I was quite disappointed when we first started using it, you should see the state of the kitchen sink (stainless steel). I should have realised that sparkling clean was unlikely. At least the pipes and appliances aren't filling up with permanent hardness though.

We have water butts of sorts, we use those 1000L cubes in a metal cage which various industrial liquids are shipped in. They can be easy to get 2nd hand and I choose ones with the bottom valve intact and link them up so the level any one or all can be dropped by pumping out of one of them.

The A/C water is in bottles at the moment but something more permanent will be sorted eventually. We get loads of it from the heat pump water heater.
