Just riffing along with last night's innuendo-fest on here, I thought you might like to see that I have a large tool.
View attachment 335112 A 50mm drill with a no. 4 Morse Taper. I'll be wanting to drill some big holes later this spring so seeing this advertised on Ebay was just too tempting. I don't think I've got anything with a 4MT socket to turn it, so now I want a jumper sleeve or two. There are always more toys to buy . . .
If you know someone with a lathe, you can get them to turn the morse taper into straight shank.

As many of our members dive or have dived ... I thought this would interest some ...

Reminds me of when I was in Oban many years ago. I knew the manager of the CalMac ferries there, his missus ran the digs I was staying in. He told me of the day divers were sent down to inspect something under one of the ferries, they found a huge mound of crockery that the dishwasher had been chucking out of the porthole for years.

Well, I did think of cutting it down to fit my core cutter drill, but it seems a shame to do so. One day when I've got a shed to put it in, I'll get a lathe. I look longingly at secondhand ones for sale. Something about the size and weight of a Colchester Student would do me nicely. But I mustn't get out of sequence with my activities otherwise I'll have loads of equipment standing around in the rain under plastic sheeting and nowhere to put it. Sheds first, lathes later. Not just lathes either, If I let myself go, the credit cards would be maxed out on vintage lawnmowers, excavators, milling machines and much else besides, not to mention cars and lorries. Just the thought sets me off. I'm going to have to look at Ebay for half an hour before bed.

Poop!
W has just emailed me.
She is eating very little so, as desperate as I am to get her anything that she will eat, I bought her some wine gums today. She always eats them when we are travelling.
But the ones I got her, it turns out, have starch in them.
Which means gluten.
Ones from the papershop, not Maynards.
She didn't check the list of ingredients either, until her stomach started doing somersaults.
God is nothing safe?
Feel so flipping guilty. :(:(:(:(

By the way she did ask me to get them for her. In case anyone thinks I am trying to do her harm.

I've got a volvo v40 and the power remains active for quite a bit of time after the engine has been switched off.

Do you mean the infotainment system and some dash lights ?

I've a ford focus does the same and they are similar cars.
Well i haven't got it anymore since my eldest daughters French crap blew the head gasket. πŸ™„

No, that goes off.
I have a powerpack which I leave plugged into the cig lighter so that it is kept topped up when I'm driving - it is used to power up two fans for the dogs when I leave them in the vehicle with the engine is switched off- and I have observed that this continues to be topped up for several minutes after the ignition is switched off and everything else has 'gone off'. I am not technically minded but this is the best way I can describe my observation of what happens.

Have any of you bin ont ferry to shetland? Sailing from aberdean.
Yes.
In a force 8 gale there and a 9 coming back.
Get a cabin.
The whole boat smells of chip fat and diesel. They serve a dish called Beef Olives. They are far from the peak of culinary excellence.

Morning All. :D
No currently raining. :)
Nice cooked Brunch-time fet later (Hash Browns, Bacon, Eggs, Tomato, Scrambled Eggs with Fennel). :)
Going to try the mini out later. Still not happy that I have the timing or fuelling quite right.
The Skinners Union boys have a recommended procedure to follow, so that's something I ought to do.
Have a great day. :D
