That's a big ole kip. IIRC he had a development in his personal life that required his attention. I hope he's happy and well, one of the first to say hello when I turned up.
The scandal of the misbehaving brother-in-law deepens:
The 12k he screwed out of the old gal was 6K for a Nissan RV (he told her 10k but took 12k) and 6k to put in his pocket and to run said RV until that money runs out (then, we suspect he will be back to her for more).
He has visited his uncle down on the South Coast who called us yesterday to say that he had had a visit and clearly the BIL was “living” in this RV and both looked and smelled like a dirty old tramp.
He asked his uncle if he could move in with him (as the uncle is recently bereaved and has space). He got told NO.
The uncle wants us to pursue a legal option to throw the BIL off the “Power Of Attorney” list and to protect his elder sister from the BIL and his whiny, slimy wheedling ways.
Wifey has/is removing all bank cards, chequebooks etc. from her Mum’s place.
We are trying to get to see a soli ASAP.

What happened to the infinity
It seems the "monster vehicle" in question has not been properly identified.
The other "nice" BIL says it is a big Nissan 5Litre SUV (e.g. Infinity).
Others who have seen it are saying it is a "Van/RV" and that he seems to be living out of it.
As the little git won't dare show his face here (unless he wants it slapped) I have never seen it so I am unsure what it is.
If I really wanted/needed to find out I could cruise past the MIL's next Sunday and see for myself.
When contacted and informed where the money had come from, his eldest said "I wondered where "HE" had got the money for that, that's really bad"
Sadly, I think the bloke is universally despised by all in the family.

I can't see how, he seems a delight. Maybe worth updating the DWP for him.
DWP were on to him some years ago and took away ALL his "disability" benefits.
No more new/free Motability car every 3 years, no cash, no free dentistry etc. etc.
Apparently living in the real world came as a shock to him.
He is a typical narcissist. It's all been "done to him" and he is a "victim".
You should hear him.
Med profession ruined his life by saving his leg and not amputating it after his motorbike accident aged 21.
Med profession ruined his child during an op at age 3 (the same age that developmental problems usually do manifest).
Med profession keeps trying to send him for psyche testing instead of fixing him.
We are all against him.
He has been victimised his whole life.
He has stood in my kitchen waving a walking stick and ranting and raving that we are all against him.
