Well done!:):):)
Didn't have a cramp to hand with a coupla bits of wood or plastic? ;)
I'd better wish you a happy birthday before it's too late and we'll have to wait 'til next year.

No, I thought I'd be quick, so hadn't planned to do anything special with the window. I will however be using a few bits of wood in a day or two's time to replace some bits of plaster moulding that fell off the ceiling in Xylia's room. I'll stick them back on with high grab adhesive and prop them up with pieces of wood while it sets.

He was one of them in that boarding school full of clatty cheezy teenagers (feet man feet) get yer minds out the gutter 🤣 🤣
Sometimes you can be so gross!!

If you have to share space with other peeps 24/7 there is no way that they are allowed to be clatty etc. It never happened to me or my mates but if it had the offender would quite simply have been picked up bodily, thrown in the shower or bath and a cake of soap thrown in after them. Then the group would have stood by with bogbrush if said smelly bod didn't get on and clean himself up!

Boat no2..............

Signing off for the day in a moment...but first...
Building works is all acknowledged by the council and builder says it may start in 3-weeks and my new dining room window is ordered. It isn't a huge job, so may only take a week and a bit. :)
Now I have to move my side-gate because it is right where I want the window. :(
Once it is all done, herself may stop moaning (or not). ;)
Her next moan-item is new worktops/new kitchen.... but my lads have had all my money and I cannot afford it.
If I start a "Go fund me" you are all expected to chip in, of course. Probably only £10k. :)

Goodnight all! :D

Busy wee day today the JCB duck had a hydraulic leak & a wee oil leak yer the oil filter was loose
The other was a bust O ring n no-one likes that.... well maybe kurt 🤣🤣
Window fixed too 400 squids for it. Got another motor sailor boat to scrap I dont want it ive already got 2 free boats this week. 🤣🤣

Oh n got offered to be joint yard manager.
Sorry, lost it! "Window"???? Thort you had a problem with a hot water pipe.
I have missed something! But that is a shed load of money for a bit o glass.
One fine day I'll be up your way with the trailer to pick up one of those water caravans to shove it on the Canal du Midi!! Be agood lad and shove them in your storage for us!

Promotion. Oooh er! do you really want it? Would you go from being paid by the hour to "salaried" i.e. do all the hours we flipping tell you for no more money, more responsibility than you want.
OR
Is it better to take it in case they emply some real richard head above you?

Best of luck with the decision. ;););)

It is amazing how wifeys can come up with "to do" lists at the drop of a hat. As you know already, I have been retired 9 years and still haven't touched one of my retirement projects due to this. "New worktop" you'll be lucky! For me it was redo both kitchen and utility. :(:(:(

The yard manager smashed the window in the machine the other day, he was being smart n wanted to play with the
grab so took the keys off me then 10 mins later I got a shout on the radio as he'd trashed it. Same lad who drove
a 40T digger onto the beach after I warned him not to, the track came off & the tide came in, then they started it & it
sucked sea water into the engine so it was scrapped.

Is this the idiot whose job you might be getting or would you have to work under him?

Ye gods and little fishes!!!
He should be shackled to the office desk every day and only unshackled at going home time. And you can tell him I said so!!!🤣🤣🤣

The seating is removed from the wheel house but I havent been down stairs yet think its a 6 berth & its a big bit of a boat.
But when someone says free im yer man 🤣 🤣 🤣
Obvs canal boats just need to be dry and comfortable. They cannot run fast so economy is a thing, i.e. little engines which run quiet. and economically. A BMC B series diesel is a good one.

Knowing you as I do, albeit long distance but still over quite a bit of time now. I can't imagine many tw@ts being able to tell you what to do!!
Something we both have in common, call it stroppiness, assertiveness or the famous Hull confrontationalism, I don't give a monkey's. Think this may well have held me back in my career. My nose has NEVER been brown!!!
Hope he loses interest, flips off and leaves you the vacuum to fall in to!!:):):)

This'n looks even better and would more likely go under the bridges on said Frog Canal.

Wish I wasn't so busy!

Tbh I like that one more, still a nice size but easier to berth, one of the lads has fitted the tube for the bow thruster which is
a bonus. Needs some grp repairs this is why they gave up on it as its expensive if you need to pay me to repair it. :p 🤣

Not sure he will leave I just think its too big of a yard for him to manage, he's never been a manager before plus he cant work a
computer an he cant write very well & cant spell. He's good at mechanical & electrical repairs, good at driving the boat hoists.
Tbh all the lads will come to me first for advice or help which I think gets under his skin. He's a nice lad but I think he cant fill the
boots they have given him.

If you need a bow thruster on a boat on the Canal du Midi you really are a nana somewhat useless! 🤣 🤣 🤣
