They cut back greatly on EV production. It was bleeding 'em pretty badly.

There bread and butter now are their trucks, but they can't build them fast enough.

Their cars......meh.
When they sold lr and jag it was said they needed the money to help the mother company. Bmw did the same. Ford were very popular in the uk and still are. Almost to the extent they're treated as british. But there's a lot more competition over the last 30 years.

So do you have a church at the end of your road too?
This is why our road is called the Rue du Paradis!;)
are road hasn't got a name as it is a track through the forest and up the mountain

At the end of the white road in the village there is a church but it is rather full only opens for funerals so be alright there the village is slowly declining youngsters moving out only about 13 houses lived in now the rest are becoming derelict 😢😢

Our village was similar when we moved here although bigger number of houses.
But although it is majority old people living here, it has however attracted some newcomers who are spending money on the derelict houses to make them livable.
Because we are an easy drive 10-15mins to a bigish town the youngsters seem to have stayed around.
The previous Mayor even got a little chapel built which is used now and again. We don't have a bar or a shop now.

Its fine for us :) .

Some of the buildings have been converted to Holliday lets but overall the village is dying we try and support as much a possible but its down hill and locals set in their ways

About the same for us.

We're good killers of things, and now the big growing and preserving of fruits and vegetables begins.
You are lucky you can kill things.
In Frogland as I suspect over here. You can only kill a few things per season and you more or less have to have someone with youwhen you do so to keep tabs on you.
In Fland you can't even shoot a rabbit on your land. You have to get the local hunt to do it for you.:(

Your place sounds more like ours there. We also no longer have a shop or bar or a boulangerie. We too have a decent sized town (10 k souls) 10 minutes away and young people are moving in and doing places up. Others are building new. Those last are paying for the stupendous views. Our newish mayor is hot stuff economically and had an amazing foot bridge built connecting a medieval village to the main town across a gorge. It is so good it even appeared on national telelvision and other towns in the country have followed suit. The sincerest form of flattery and all that.

But when the motorway connecting Toulouse to a town just a bit further away from the one I mentioned opens, there is likely to be an influx of wealthy people wanting to get away from the big town and live in the mountains with great views but in commuting distance. Not sure if that would be good for us but it shouldn't do any harm for the local economy so by and large we welcome it.

The chuch at the top of our road only has a service once every three weeks but it does do a lot of funerals and a few weddings. There is also a place where people come to generally party, wedding receptions etc. All good fun!

We are restricted to certain seasons for certain species. Thank goodness some of the species are really big.
