Building plans man has been to see us with the plans for the addition of a window into the Dining room wall.
£276 to the Council for the building notice and £150 to him.
Whereas, If I had kept with my original 1.8m x 1.0m window it would have needed "full planning permission". So, I said drop it to 1.8M x 50cm so it can just be done as a building notice as the window area is <1Sqm. <- Success #1.
As I pointed out that the previously passed plans from 20 years ago say there is 1M between me and the boundary line I now do NOT have to insert a 30 minute fireproof window (£1500) which he had previously said I would have to have. <- Success #2
It might transpire at some point in the future that this little window falls out and a few extra building blocks go with it and the original 1.8 x 1m window reappears.... who knows?
