Right peeps...... at last ive got the blasted mini going :banana::banana:

& its driving with no engine faults. Managed to re-code everything
abs/dsc/footwell module/fuel pump/ecu reset to factory/steering angles/throttle body ect ect bla bla bla bla bla....................

I think whats happened is the lad the cloned the ecu put the old faults into the new one. (who knows)

Lost the plot on this one really. How long has thie blessed motor been off the road and how long has your missus been driving around in summat else? Or hasn't she?
We were thinking of maybe getting one but all the probs you have had with them has well put us off!

Tis a bit easier when you have the right equipment to do it, just a matter of going through the system & checking the function
of everything, then if something has a fault its a matter of testing it. My diagnostics has programming & special functions for
most vehicles up to 2021. Ive been leaving my phone in the house so I dont get distracted as you loose where you were.
Ive got another key to program I will give that a go when ive got the chance. :):)

I dont thing id buy another one tbh, they drive really well the parts are cheap & they arent hard to work on. Might have just
been unlucky. My mate has a track car same model & it gets thrashed but its been reliable. ??? 🤔

I get the feeling that, on the quiet, you are quite an electronic whizz. I take off my bunnet to you!;);)

.... well that was disappointing. :(
The Rev Counter for the lathe refuses to work correctly.
Most likely culprit was/is EMI causing the detected transducer pulses to get swamped so there was no clean signal.
I tried putting the whole transducer and its cable tail in a shielding braid earthed at one end but it has made no difference.
I have run out of ideas and the only remaining option appears to be to put the whole VFD inside a faraday cage/tin box.
This might work but as it needs to be air-cooled it may mean buying some perforated sheet to make a box from.
I wonder if shoving a biscuit tin over the VFD would be a good temporary test? Hmmmmm.......
Is the bit the rev sensor is measuring connected to earth? Like iffits measuring the fly wherl spinning on a car. Is the metal body of the laith earthed? Figures jumping about like that reminds me of a situation where a sensor ain't reading a signal fast enuff. Like measuring a sine waveyer have to measure at twice the frequency of said wave as a minimum or yer figures bounce around.

Can yer rig up the sensor monitoring somefink else which is slower like a drill or food mixer? At lower speeds it may show reliable results. What type of sensor issit?
