Morning all, up late again but not quite as late as yessdi or Satdi.
Got to sleep very late as finished "The first overland" at 0230.
What a fantastic book. What the first Tratters could do was amazing.
If you've not read it get your other halves to get it you for Xmas, or just get it yourself.

I now have "The last overland" to read which, because of the hype on the book jacket, is leading me to think will be a much more modernish thing. But I am trying not to judge it by the cover, as they say!

Apparently there are/were progs on it ont telly which I could watch via catch up. Well maybe I will and maybe I won't.

Have a good day folks! :):):):)

Ok I just bought the white honda, well ive put a deposit on it. :)

Assuming clothes errr I dont do any washing cause I make everything blue, I though her white tops looked nice with a hint of blue 🤣
Clothes yes, but also bed linen etc.. In days gone by when all the family dirty washing had to be done in the tub with a dolly-legs, rubbing board and a mangle then Monday was traditionally the day when all this washing was done - the weekly wash. It took all day and was a full-on job and because there was no time for cooking then the remains of the Sunday roast was eaten as a cold meal. So, Monday was always know as 'Wash Day'. Then someone released a woman from a big chore by inventing a washing machine!

Tuesday was then Ironing Day.

Education time now finished. :) :) :)

I have booked the Shogun in to have the silly gearbox warning lamp fixed. It is a simple matter of pulling the plugs and cleaning them. As they are on the side of the gearbox under the car, I have opted for the 'throw money at it' approach as I just can't get under there anymore!!

...and , for @kevstar the washing soap bar etc was known as "blue"
so our Kev was right although kinda old skool!!
Monday's dins was cold roast and chips. so not quite a cold dins, round my Grans! Her tub looked like and old one but had a vertically mounted swirly thing that swished back and forth electrically.
But I got to turn the handle of the mangle. She did it in what was called "the veranda" i.e. a glassed in area outside the back door, today it'd be called a conservatory!🤣🤣🤣🤣

Here's a thing!
Andy Saunders my MOT garage owner and longtime sort of mate just rang me to tell me he is retiring.:(:) (He sees me as a very loyal customer.)
But he has either sold it to, or taken on as manager, a bloke he has hunted for for 3 years. So the whole lot, lock, stock and barrel, even the staff will be remaining, so I won't have to go looking for some other cowboy outfit! Phew!
The tester will even be the same and he is a decent, fair bloke.
Andy's 60, don't blame him.
He was saying that the job is turning into a nightmare at the moment. He has had a Zafira in with DPF issues. He ran cleaner through it and it was OK for a while but it needs a new DPF. Cannot get one anywhere in the UK or europe, unless you pay Vauxhall prices, at which you might as well buy another car. So I really don't blame him for ceding his biz.

Funny call to get though. shows how many cars I put through his place over the past 35 years!
