Mornin,
Dragged out a bed this mornin by a phone call, grand daughter can't find her keys and gt'grand daughter will be late for school, can I run over with the spare car key ?
I did and was thinking on the way, she lives about a mile from the school, could have walked it

Anyway, I'm up and dressed early for a change , have a good day all :)

Yes loads of it (at least 8" of finest Rockwool). I guess the room had been unheated all day and had got very cold. :)
If you left the lounge door open and the bedroom door open (and shut all the other doors) wouldn't that get at least a bit of heat into it? It's what we do when in France and we don't want to put the electric heating on. The log burner warms the lounge massively so some drifts up the stairs!;)

and here is this morning's funny happening.
(Can only happen to me.)

I'm sitting at the brekfus table, daydreaming while eating and drinking, waiting while W gets herwself down and onto her brekker.
I had my left elbow on the table with a piece of toast folded in two with marmalade in it.
Suddenly I feel a coldish, sticky "gloop" hit my elbow inside my dressing gown sleeve.
Yep, you guessed it, a bit of marmalade had dropped out and down my arm. till it got trapped between my outer elbow and the material!

Yet again, something that has never happened to me before.

Yep, I know! "That'll teach you to put your elbows on the table!" Granny was right!!!

Yet more incentive, as if I needed it, to get the washing machine back up and running. ;)

It works now but we have discovered it is rather stinky. Not something we are used to. We think it has happend because we leave it standing for 6 months every year. And our water is very hard, unlike the machine in Frogland where the water is soft.

In Frogland it was rthe dishwasher! But we've sussed that now and remedied it.
I've discovered the mucky area is the chute and area surrounding the detergent drawer. Who'd a thort it! So I'll be taking it apart to see if I can get it out and sort it.
Hey ho pass the screwdriver!

Have a good day folks!
:):):)

One thing pea-ed me off this morning.
Got an email from Norton telling me stuff about the new subscription "I had just paid".
Barstaff!!!
@Hippo had convinced me that some form of AVG would be betterer and I was going to get on here and ask him how to go about getting it cheaper and better for my lappy at least.
I didn't think my renewal was as soon as this.
As usual they have got me cos I can't be assed to cancel it and it isn't too expensive, although it likely isn't as good.
BUT I'll cancel the automatic renewal then at least they may have the decency to warn me in plenty of time next year and I'll be able to do what I wanted to do this year.

Note to self WRITE THIS DOWN IN NEXT YEAR'S CALENDAR!

Wow! only just found this out!

Arras is where my ex went to live and teach, only, as luck would have it, she can't teach in a state school so is in a private one, (if she hasn't retired which I doubt as she and her newish husband are skint, so I hear.)
But feels a bit close to home, we got married near there and my Dad stayed there overnight. And the guy who died was a French Language teacher, like me, although not, obvs.

So sad, yet again. Killed, basically, for being a teacher.:mad::mad:

So...
Got the washing machine apart and the offending items are soaking prior to me attacking them with more direct means!
Funny working out how it was put togehter and therefore why various clips have been put on the way they were, i.e. upside down as far as getting tools to them is concerned!
Also one clip appears to be missing.
CIBA-ed to make one up?
Wire or a cable tie?
Or simply put it back as it was?
Hmm!
Nice how quickly and relatively easily it came apart. Wish Landies were like that! And a pleasant lack of mucky oil!
The yuk is all internal. ;)
Have fun folks!
I'll be back on it once the coffee/reward is drunk.:):):)
