Went to pick the misses up on the way to get the mini ecu, so whilst waiting I tided all my tools in the van.

Picked up the ecu & got a pizza on the way home.
Fitted ecu & the body control unit, started with the jump pack. Running fine abs lights on AGGHHH FFS
took it a run to see if it would re-set nope, plugged in the diagnostic loads of faults. :mad:

Cleared the faults then had to turn of the key & I was a mile from the house yup no start lol
Jump pack oot & drove home... it went into limp mode. Took a vid & pics sent them to the ecu lad.
Just as well I didnt pay him the 250 quid as its no better in fact I had it running better at least it didnt go
into limp mode. Im sick of this motor. :stars:
With the abs light could it be a different fault as thay stay on till you hit 20klm as a test ??

Met office says it starts Dec 1st but astrological winter starts around 21st. Winter solstice celebrates the darkness going and the new light coming in and that's where traditionally a tree comes into the house to make sure there is heat for the home and gifts are exchanged to celebrate the longest night and the days getting longer.

And there was me thinking that the pre-christianity mid winter feasting was cos they got half way throught the winter, the days started to lengthen so they feasted on the food that they knew was going to be surplus by the end of the winter. And/or to celebrate having survived that long into winter.
Others say they work out when it's going to be coldest and that winter starts when it starts getting really cold, which could be various days every year.

The car has an earlier front nearside wing fitted, the indicator is about 2inch further away from the grill than the off side one,
Ok, can see that now, and the shape of the wing being slightly different has forced the grill down a tad on that side causing the canting.
You could, if you CBA, take the indicator out, recut the hole, and weld the bit you've just cut out into the other end of the ole, grind back fill and spray. Then at least the indicator would look right. But as for the canted grill.....

Quite apart from the problem of early and late parts, you get the same problems with pattern parts an awful lot, some need to be practically remade, cutting and shutting etc. One assumes it's down to accident damage or rust. And signs of accident damage in the underneath and surrounding area? Anything else squint?

Maybe you could get a later wing? Seems strange to me that someone could only get hold of an earlier one.
 
Anyway, morning all from grey drizzly, Dorset. Off to the musculoskeletal peeps for them to look at my left little finger. I hope they will actually look at all my fingers and fumbs as they is all pants.
Then off to eldest dottir who is having massive works done to their "cottage".
To give you an idea, they have a two storey annex so they have had two LPG tanks buried on site to provide LPG to each part of the property. :rolleyes: Why not one tank with two pipes off it, or one with a T in it? (Doubtless gas types will get on and tell me why that can't be done.)
No, I wouldn't have buried them either. :eek: They have enough land to be able to leave em above ground and screen em off.
They are living in the reworked annex until the rest of the work is done. But TBH they had to do something, her husband, who isn't that tall couldn't walk around the kitchen without hitting his head on beams. And they couldn't lower the floor as the water table is just below it. They live on Marsh Lane which might account for why they got flooded not long back!🤣🤣🤣:eek::eek::eek:
The kitchen is going to be where the conservatory was, and then all sorts of other things are going to be moved around like that game where you have a square with lots of other little plastic squares in it and one open space, so you have to slide stuff around to make up a picture!
Can't feel sorry for her as her ex gave her 500k at the divorce so it cost her nothing, and she always " pète plus haut que son cul" as the French would say! (This is rude otherwise I'd translate it for you!)
Thatched, listed place indeed! They aren't allowed to move the staircase, which rises from where the kitchen used to be, because of it and it being thatched.

Saw a prog the other day, Bangers and Cash, where the guy showed a similar problem on a Jensen Interceptor, only he explained it by saying that all those cars were handbuilt, so one front indicator being about a finger's width higher than the other was just what happened! 🤣 🤣 🤣

I always thought MG/BMC cocked up with the MGC. I've driven plenty of C's, both GT's and roadsters, and there's too much compromise with the heavy engine weight and archaic front suspension design [I await to be shot down for such critique]. MG/BMC already had the light weight and highly tuneable RV8 engine readily available and should have taken this route rather than waiting for Ken Costello to lead the way.

The wing may well have been fitted in the seventies when it was a race car, no damage to inner wing etc. Geek from MG owners club looked it over and never spotted the odd wing lol, It'll have to go cheap I think, nice car for some enthusiast somewhere
