I was in the builders merchants yesterday and got chatting to the gatekeeper.
He tells me that the day before they had 2 guys come in with a truck and load up with lots of stuff and start heading towards the exit. The staff had been keeping an eye on them and put a forklift with a ton of aggregate across the exit and told them to go in to the trade counter and pay and come back with the receipt which would be checked off against their load and they would be allowed to leave. They come out 10 minutes later and say "Oh, it seems the job's been cancelled, we'll put everything back".
They were allowed to do so, and then they left. The gateman said they checked the reg number of the tipper-truck they were in and the plates belonged to a stolen ford Focus.
Chancers! LOL
