Yes, it was pretty thorough as I remember, with composition, comprehension, a multiple choice test mainly about how the verbs mutate in different tenses, an oral exam with reading an unfamiliar passage aloud as well as answering free-form unrehearsed questions about daily life, hobbies and interests. That was for the old Cambridge board. Rumour had it that the AEB was easier.Don't knock old O level. It wasn't easy.
If I wanted to rattle a cocky A level group, I'd give them an O level paper to do, then when they'd struggled through it tell them that back when I was teaching it, students were not allowed to use dictionaries.
They pooped themselves, especially when they realised that A level back then was obvs much harder.
In those days kids actually had to learn stuff.
Not a bad old day by the looks of it

I got some time in the workshop.
Cut the middle out of my rear axle on the trike. I cannot tell if the frame stresses have "pinged" the 2 halves out of alignment yet.

That's an ergonomic masterpiece. Everything you could possibly want within arm's reach. I think I can see at least three angle grinders, and there look to be plenty of gloves with their little fingers sticking out here and there too.Shhhhhh.
I do clear it up but then it gets messy again real quick.
