Grand daughter's Clio been reversed into overnight by a truck I think
Am I right in thinking that the insurance only pay market value rather than what's left on the finance ?
'Their' market value only but dunt accept it. Look round for the cost of buying the same make, model, condition and mileage. Get 3 from near garages to proove worrit would cost to replace. Then argue on the price. If she took oot gap insurance in addition to road insurance, then gap will fork oot the difference between what the insurance pay and whats she owe's on finance.

Guid afternoon
Suns oot but a chill wind
Off to remove rear mudflap brackets from defender, and replace with nice new galvanised (n painted) brackets.
Guessing fixing bolts will shear off when I remove, so rivnuts may be required, we shall see.

Oh and Nicola sent me this

Did mine last year (with stainless brackets). The old fixings were steel threaded inserts set in square holes in the cross member, and the bolts sheared off easily enough. Then punched the old inserts out and drilled the square holes to make them round and put ally rivnuts in.

A word of warning, never buy a green hose pipe !!

I have one on a reel at the back of the house, decided to use it today to flush the front gutters after clearing them out.

First I made sure my route from back to front was clear of obstacles and then started to tow the hose around the side of the house, said green hose managed to grab a brush standing against the wall and flip it knocking a tin of paint off the shelf in my lean to.

Hose then jammed around the brush so I set off back to untangle it. Hose managed to wrap around my foot sending me full length of the house at 45 degrees and in three strides.

Eventually I got set up and went up the ladder making sure I had plenty of hose free for the job, Two thirds the way up the ladder said green hose wrapped itself around the stake for my sunflower and abruptly the job stopped. Down the ladder again to free the bloody thing off !

Anyway, long story short, gutter all clear and after several mishaps reeling the hose back in I’m now sitting having a brew, one of those days

Don't stand on a rake when you put the hose back in the shed :D

What colour hose doesn't cause grief and calamity? Asking for a friend :D

Every "green/green-striped" hose we have ever purchased has failed. Usually directly after being borrowed/used by a visiting workman/builder.
The last one we purchased was bright Yellow and sold as "Heavy Duty". It was made in Poland and it is indeed heavy duty. It is the best I've ever had and resists kink's internal collapses and all the usual failures of "cheap" hoses.
Its 50M long and only cost £75. It's still going strong with no problems after 5 years. :)

Well only 2 out of 6 fixing bolts had an nissue, the captive nuy just rotated so hacksawed them off.
