....that EVERY FLAMING YEAR its the same.
You know of what I speak, you know you do.
I refer to the recalcitrant and miserable mowing machine.
One expects it to be reasonable as it has had a nice long rest since last October.......but would the ruddy thing start? No!
It demands a payment in terms of:
A wrenched shoulder, a ricked back, 4 new and previously unspoken swear-words and deprecations towards its parenthood.
Even this was not enough this year, the ruddy thing is upping the ante.
In the end I had had enough of this nonsense so I resorted to pulling the air-filter off and giving it a face-full of queasy-start.
Grass cutting resumes after a spot of luncheon. :)

Wifey says "stop hurting yourself, buy a new electric-start mower".
She has a point.

Afternoon folks:).

Been Organizing some labor to render some walls and put up ceilings at a friends house. So sorted "they will be here at the weekend" Fine that gives me some time to run the cables for the sockets and fix back boxes in place.
M gets a phone call "oh they will be there tomorrow" that was yesterday afternoon:eek:. So up early today and crawling around in a loft to drop wires then bashing oles for back boxes, while trying to stay out of the way of 2 guys starting to chuck cement at the walls;).
All done now and about to jump in the shower.

Oh and its bloody chilly and drizzly outside, May wimp out and rub a couple of sticks together to get a nice glow going in the corner:).

I'm on fibre in my mate's place and it does seem slow, but it could be my phone!

Ever thought of gettin one of those robot mowers ?
Only don't buy second hand as they go straight back home after switching on

Garden is only 130' x 33', but its getting more & more difficult each year. :(

Comes with age I am afraid mate;).
My Mum & Dad sold a big 3 bed semi and brought a small bung a low roof on with probably a 1/4 of the garden they had cos they were struggling with the big place.
Best move they ever made for them:). Mum still has a full garden but Dad has almost no grass to cut:D
Its a bit of a decision to make, but the convo has to be had at some point.

Sod the family you need to think about yourselves now:).

We have looked (a tiny bit), but I guess we've become snobs been spoiled. All the places we look at have tiny low-ceilinged pokey little rooms and yes she wants a garden, and I would like a proper sized workshop.
These things are millionaire's row items round here. :(

Tiny rooms and low ceilings have advantages =Less heating required;). Ok not all your furniture will fit;).
The money you save will soon pay for a big workshop/garage build.

But I understand the biggest problem you have is family close;).

Its difficult to think of yourselves sometimes, when the question that always comes up is "but its so far away";). It doesn't last long once you make the step.
Ask MOL ( tried to tag but site is slow maybe they are fixing it:eek:)

I agree. I have nothing tying me to this locale 2 of my kids and their families live all too close by but I'd be happy to move away to a different county.
Wifey however is stuck here because of her Mum (93) and her Grand-kids so that puts a stop to moving anywhere cheaper in the UK. :(

I'm hoping it's because someone is underneath the server swearing and hitting bits with a hammer to fix the pic upload problem
I'll send a lad round to help -------
