I once pulled onto a roundabout and some wimmins pulled on from my left, hit me in the nearside wing and somehow, according to the insurance company, it was half my fault.:mad::mad:. I had apparently gone form a standing start to over 30 mph, in 20 feet in a Morris Marina.
So I go round roundabouts very gingerly now.
Lane markings mean absolutely nothing.
And the worst roundabout i know, in the world, is the "hamburger" roundabout a coupla miles down the road from me,

There are at least two, normally three lanes at each entrance and exit, controlled by lights including the dool cabbageway which cuts across norf-sarf. so if you approach on the dool carriageway and want to turn off right, you actooly have to turn off left and then go round the roundabout, crossing the dool carriageway again, until you get to your exit.:mad:
Between each set of lights on the roundabout there is only room for about 3 cars
The number of accidents there were on it when it was first built, and I had to go over it twice each day to and from work.
Lots of peeps wanted a flyover, which would have been not only faster but better, but no, some idiots on the council thought it would be "less aesthetically pleasing". Previously there was an ornery roundabout there, but it was a bit of a jam up twice a day, so they put this in to speed traffic up, which it hasn't and there is still a bit of a jam up, in fact more of a jam up, if you are entering from a side road, twice a day.
AND it cost a fortune.
Still you sometimes see bunnies on the grass on the middle bits!:D

Roundabouts seem to be a new thing here. Its scary sometimes even when in the right lane indicating to go to the "right" (exit LHD) somebody will join in your space:rolleyes:. So we are carful too:).

Must admit those multi mini roundabouts where stupid.

Wycombe and Hemel Hempstead both have 'magic roundabouts' and both have many accidents every year. You have to check both left and right as they come from both directions!

In Frnace it's like "Lane? What lane?"
The other major nightmare roundabout is the "magic roundabout" in Swindon.
