....... spentr orl arternoon and a lot of the evening assembling all the blasted paper work I need for the visa interview.
W still has hers to do.
Why the heck they want two copies of everything beats me.
This included a visit to Nationwide to get them to print me off two copies of the last 4 months of three accounts.
When the lovely young lady had done that I then told her how I couldn't access my accounts online as it asked for a 6 figure code I do not remember ever having to use before and then I couldn't access it the "other way" as my blasted card reader wouldn't work.
She did stuiff to get me a new 6 figure code then gave me two new card readers, telling me that any card reader would do as they all just work on the card. That in fact she used her Barclays one for her Nationwide accounts.
So I thanked her and went 'ome.
Once back here I suddenly thort, "Oops, I don't remember inserting the card!"
I'd been so keen faffing around fitting the batts and testing them with a voltmeter, then getting mad cos nothing appeared on the screen.
So well, as soon as I put the card in, it came to life.

I felt a right small bird.:oops::oops::oops::oops::oops::oops:
Still it meant I could do stuff on there.
Still have to get TLSContact to send us both proper official invites to the appointement on Monday which they seem to not have done.
All a wretched pain. :mad::mad::mad:

Morning All. :D
My liar sports watch says I had 2hrs 34m deep sleep and 3hrs 0m light sleep and no "awake" time!
Funny that, as I lay awake for 2 and a half hours checking the time, got up and went for a "p" and wondered whether to read a bit more of my book when I got back to bed.
Unless I was sleep-walking/P-ing, of course, :)
Anyway its +4° and not raining here.
Have a lovely day! :D

... That the Samsung woes continue. :(
We got this "Frost-Free" freezer defrosted yesterday so no more noise from the air distribution fan's blades hitting the build-up of ice/frost inside the freezer. :)
But, the ice-maker would then make (but not dispense) ice, neither in cubed or crushed form (1st World problems eh?). :(
Been online and the Samsung website is generic and of no practical help at all.
Scoured YouTube and nothing showing this model type. :(
Undeterred, I unlimbered the IBM customer Engineer in me and fooled the reed switch on the door-hinge with a small magnet so I could press the "gimme-ice-you-Ba$tard-thing" button with the door wide open so I could see what was happening. I could see the mechanism operating but clearly it is disconnected from (reality) the ice-bin operating arm with the ice-bin removed.
Problem: Ice bin is a loose/sloppy fit on its moulded rails and may not slide all the way home because it fouls on the drive dogs for the ice-crusher. What a crap design!!
Either make it a positive lock or impossible to close the door if the thing is not fully home, not a halfway measure P.O.S. like a dick in a bucket.:mad:
Solution: Turn the ice delivery corkscrew paddle (like an Archimedes screw) so it does NOT foul on the drive dogs and can be slid all the way home.
Result: Ice delivery resumes. But why make it so hit & miss and awful? Possibly to gain Service Tech Call outs and Ice-maker parts sales.;)

Glad you have sorted it out.:)

When it the restaurant business, in one place we just used stacks of ordinary ice-trays in a freezer. Worked just fine. ;)
Then in the next place they had an ice machine. Stand-alone jobby. Twas rubbish. the ice formed on the rotating thing then dropped off, but didn't get any colder, so I could use it but the drinks never got really cold and the ice buckets turned to water in no time. Hopeless. Like looking at lumps of faintly solid water. :(:(:(

Thanks, this makes decent ice of good size and can make up to 120 cubes a day, the ice-maker is ok, its the bin and delivery mechanism's that are poor. :(
Looking online there are lots of "Class Action" law-suits against Samsung America for failures of Samsung refrigeration products. :D

"class actions"??? wow!!!.
Glad it works! 120 ice cubes a day is a goodly amount..
Our one in Frogland is semi automatic.
It is three trays in a row, in a sort of holder, you fill them up and when frozen you turn a knob on the front of the holder for each one and it flips each tray over then twists it so the cubes fall out into a biggish holding drawer below, so you can make as many as you want and they stay frozen. The only downside is that it takes up quite a bit of room. However they are separate, so you can still put other stuff in the drawer.;)

Sun shining here!
W has been to the docs and discovered her blood pressure is a "bit high" doc didn't give her details. :(
He has given her a scrip for better nasal spray and presumably different antibiotics as the last lot made her sick.
In the little waiting room an old 2lady" was running off at the mouth about those on strikes, and a blokey complained about having to take a day off to look after his kid. while not agreeing with the other burd. I told W she should have said to him "Just pretend it's a training day!"
(In my working life, Baker stole 30 weeks holiday off me down to uselsss training days. Grr!)
I meanwhile spent time uselessly trying to contact the visa people via the internet. ended up having to ring them. their computer set up totally stinks.:mad:
Anyway, sorted.:)

My eightieth today but totally ruined all celebrations as I have been very poorly for six days with food poisoning. :( I am hoping it is now on the wane but the thought of food or drink, other than a sip of water, is just a real turn-off.:(

Oh no! That's a proper bummer, what a shame
Happy birthday all the same DD, save the ice cream an jelly for another day :)
