Afternoon folks:).

Well, we got some snow on the hill tops but none down ere yet. Temps have gone down a bit more, burning about 1 Ikea bag of wood a day, but think that's about to go up too 2;). Sun is not giving enough squiggles so we have used 9Kwhr in 2 days from the grid:(.

Fink we may have an issue with the big RR as it has gone down on the fronts when it gets really cold;). fink new airbags will be on the list soon. Need to check first but not doing it out there it's too cold. Have to get me backside into gear and get the other bits off the 38 in the garage so I can get that out of the way;) garage time excuse:D.

Looked in the freezer and decided on a couple of things for chrimbo so only need the normal fresh veg run, suppose we will have to get sprouts (yuk) as M likes them. Got our New Year's Eve hotel night booked in town, should all be back to normal this year:):).

Grub has been prepped and ready to go, so can crack a bottle till we gets hungry:D.

Re the sprouts.
Take all the outer leaves off and when you think you've done it, take another one or two off!!
Cross cut in the base, plenty of salt in the watter and don't boil em for too long.
I used to hate em too.
It's the outer leaves wot makes em bitter.

If I did that I would end up with peas:confused:.
I always cut across in my fingers the base when doing sprouts, I watched my Mum doing them as a nipper, Hoping she wouldn't do too many;).

But yes I is jesting I can live with them now, but still dont mean I would choose them if I was paying:). But they go well in the bubble and squeak the next days:D.

I thought the sprouts went on some time near mid-September in order to make them at all palatable for Xmas day.
You know, about the same time they start to defrost another Michael Bublé.

Tis what you do wiv em to make them taste of something, like bacon bits/lardons wiv cabbage, butter and garlic with haricot verts etc etc.
One day I think I'll make a lickle list of green veg I actually like when they are cooked very simply.;):D

W gives all sorts to the dogs, incuding cabbage, some of which she has just cleaned up off the lounge floor after one expressed her dislike in an "up-chuck" fashion?

It will allow me to beam to the States. I can only go east atm with my current setup. I have got out to Russia quite often but want to talk to our western cousins now :)
