When you read it, it doesn’t say a fail on the database, so if the ticket is still valid.
“If your vehicle fails the MOT:
- you’ll get a ‘refusal of an MOT test certificate’ from the test centre

But you can still take it away if it’s not “major” and back once fixed as long as it’s booked in.
Even if expired can’t you?

No, you CAN take it away if it is "Major" just not if it is "Dangerous".But you can still take it away if it’s not “major” and back once fixed as long as it’s booked in.

No, you CAN take it away if it is "Major" just not if it is "Dangerous".
3 categories:
Dangerous - must be fixed on the spot
Major - can be driven away, must be fixed and retested within 2 weeks or needs a new test. If existing MOT runs out after the two weeks can still be driven right up to the end of the certificate. But must be fixed to get a new MOT.
Advisory - basically it is up to you when you get it fixed, if at all. Can still present with it just the same at next MOT.
