Just checked and on the nearside of the block of the one in the kit there is no number at all on the block where the 205 is on the one in your pic. I cannot get to the offside to look.
I was expecting to see a 20 or a 200.
The engine is from an old W reg car so 1980.
So I expect it is a 20 engine.
the one from the Crusader, (in the trailer) must be from about the same era, no longer have the reg as the rest of it went off to banger racers.
:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

And ....er..... it doesn't have the intake manifold on?! (I thought it did) nor even the starter motor. dunno why, could be that I fitted the Sierra gearbox after it went through the MOT to register it and I then stripped it down to start doing things properly.
Then it stalled. :rolleyes:

Nope it has nothing in the way of an inlet manifold bolted to it nor twin anythings! I built it with a normal twin choke Weber as economy was a factor, using other things to improve the tune/performance. Like a high torque cam, a skimmed head and a much better exhaust. I ran it in, in the Crusader and it gave a few BMWs interesting moments.;) but it's no street racer, I was aiming to replicate the power of a Jag SS 100 and it does about match that but obvs nothing like the power of a more modern 2 litre. ;)

Economy for a pinto please slap yourself :p:D

Aint you retired what do you do with your time :D
DIY sh!t.:(:(:(
and I don't get up feck off early nor get to work once up! If I start work at 11 o'clock, it's a good day! Never go on beyond 5 p.m.
(But I have gold medals in prevarication.)
I worked 2 hours yessdi, sticking down the edges of some wallpaper on the feature wall in the master bedroom. A job that has needed being done for about 10-15 years!
Just an example of a "day's work" in the Steamer household. Reckon I do 5 hours max on a good day. ;)

Your starting to sound like one of my boring old teachers haha :p
So you had teachers who collected cars, built cars and fitted out houses abroad? Wow, wish I'd met some of them!!
None of mine even maintained their own cars. I had a woodwork teacher who had his car serviced by one of my schoolmates, a farmer's kid I think. Didn't know him that well.
But most of them were into sport in one way or another, had served in the war or done national service. Lots were ex-pilots as a result. Guess they just enjoyed a quiet life!:D:D:D
