Made some grub:
Tonight’s ‘will it look similar’ was a chicken dish, based on Chicken Chasseur…

Served with left over veg cooked in cream & butter, it was very good!

Note to self: Don’t pick up the oven-proof frying pan 30 seconds after you have removed it from the oven…

No, I maybe old but not quiet that old. But I still know Mum & Dad will save the dripping (seems less on the lean is better now) But it was bread and dripping on Mondays for them. I could never quite get the taste for it;).
I do remember Mum using Echo marg (was it called that).

Ma and Da and all other rellys always had an old cup with no handle in the fridge where they put the dripping they had scraped off the bottom of various pans. I guess they used it to shallow fry stuff.

It needs to be added to the "Things NOT to eat in bed" list.
  • Digestive Biscuits.
  • Hand-cut sliced bread toast.
  • Cheese & Crackers.
And add to that "Things not to wear in bed"
top of my list "Love beads"
who remembers they feckin things.
Stuck under your foreskin.
Not funny!
Of course I wasn't wearing them, wot you think I am, a feckin yippie!!:D:D:D

Not worn anything in bed since I was an 18 YO. Can't stand PJ's. Although I now occasionally wear a pair of bed-socks because my meds drop my circulation too low and my feet go like blocks of ice. :)

Yes, Echo was a much later invention - needed because the Magic was almost as horrible as the dripping!:):):)

Me liking Marmite is the least of your worries:eek:, Well not you actually as I dont live close enough:D.

But a Peanut butter/cheese & Marmite sandwich goes down well now and again to fill the tank:D.

Top tip though don't eat marmite on hot crumpet's with all that butter it drops out through the oles and can make a very strange type of mark on the bed sheets:D:D.

Yer its coming oot yer arse onto the sheets cause you cant hold it in after that combo o_O

Here's a thing, since leaving boarding school, the only time I have ever worn PJs was during the last 5 years or so of my first marriage. (Which only lasted 7 years!)
Kind of says it all really!!!!!!
Re the blocks of ice thing, do sympathise. not for myself as I don't have the problem, but Wifey does. And I did go to bed a few times with a Danish burd in Copenhagen who also wore them, but only them. (didn't even notice for the first couple of nights!;))
