Yerp we coulda done wiv a breeze!Depends which shade I look at. 31 or 28 in the summer kitchen. But we have had a brezzey day, The waters 27 because we had to add some water to it. Not complaining

Glad you found your problem. I would replace them both if it were me. ;-)I've just been having a look at what may be wrong with my digger. It will go backward but not forward. I've brought the forward & reverse lever home to play with. I couldn't quite work out the logic of the pins on the connector block, but on drilling out the rivets and dismantling the mechanism I think I've found the problem:

There are two micro-switches. The bottom one still has a youthful spring in its step and emits a satisfying click when its little tab is pushed in. The top one has gone all loose and floppy and has no click at all. The little button under the tab (which you can make out on the bottom one) has disappeared. So it looks like I'll need a new switch. I thought it was something electrical rather than mechanical, judging by the fact that reverse worked and you could hear relays clicking all over the place, except when pushing the lever forward.
I've ordered another switch assembly. With JCBs it's a bit like Land Rovers. The spares availability is pretty good so there's no point dismantling the stalk switches and repairing them at component level, it's just too tempting to chuck a new one on.Glad you found your problem. .... Oh dear. The wife's Mini All4 has chucked up a serious error code.
Code 2DA0 - Inlet Camshaft: Angle offset with respect to crankshaft outside tolerance.
The handbook says "Garage ASAP"
This feels expensive.
Fingers crossed for you here an all!..... that I had a good search on google and found a Mini specialist near me (7 miles or so).
Booked in for diagnostics on Monday and a "fix" plan after that.
Man knew exactly what the fault code had to say and asked me all the right questions.
Says it could be actuating solenoids, blocked strainers or the timing chain/tensioner is fubar.
Fingers crossed it is a simple fix.
