Just to give you all a bit of a laugh!
"roll over Descartes"!!!
"roll over Descartes"!!!
See if yer can gettid the liquid version of bars leaks.I think I have narrowed it down to the waterpump mount. There is a cast block that both the water pump ( sorry "coolant") is fit to along with the power steering pump. This is driven by the fan belt (sorry "auxiliary belt") so it goes fan belt PS pump which then drives the water pump.
I don't THINK it's the water pump or its housing but it is so feckin difficult to see I cannot be sure. Whichever it is I'll have to take off the centrifugal oil filter and, according to Haynes, but not RAVE, the turbo.
But before I do any of this I need to identify the seals and gaskets for everything to be sure of curing the leak.
For the mo I'm gonna see what the French equivalent of K-seal is and put it in bit by bit until the leak stops but not enough to feck up the thermostat. i don't reckon I'll be able to identify the parts I need this side of the channel, so it'll have to wait until I am in blighty. The coolant I can see isn't just "traces of" or dried. it is actual liquid and is dripping off a biolt on the bottom of a mounting and also in the trough between the mounting and the block. Hence my reasons for thinking what it might be.
Only bloody LR would think it's a good thing to NOT mount the pump housing directly to the block. I had the famous P gasket (Wpump housing to block) go on the 300tdi and it was a piece of pistachio to change!
3 septic tanks!!!
How the feck was that necessary?
Did you buy an old monastery or summat?
Keep the knee safe and make the wall hang on a bit longer to see how things go. You can always get someone in later if you have to but if your knee really gives out then ................ .Morning All
The back wall of my house needs painting, do I? a) risk my knee clambering up and down ladders and DIY, or, b) Pay someone else to do an inferior job and keep the knee safe?
Lovely day here Sunny and 4° at the moment.
Have a great day.
That's exactly what I want, just have to find out what the French version is or whether they sell K-Seal or Bars under its original name.See if yer can gettid the liquid version of bars leaks.
Ah yes!Close, its was the village school.
The third 1 is a small 1 under the outside loo.

.......or c) just wait a bit until your knee heals up a bit further then do it?Morning All

Feel your pain mate!....that I've mowed my lawn.
All very well having a larger than average garden but its a tiring job at my age. I remember it being a doddle 30 years ago.
Oh my place is pretty small compared to your French estate. The plot is only about 35 feet wide (if that) but it is about 210 feet long. Herself has managed to plant stuff that makes it a real nightmare to mow (for fear of killing off her plants etc.) So its just a typical English "field-grass" garden with trees and shrubs and obstacles. Still its done now. I may go get the ladders out and prop them against the wall, ready for some painting.Feel your pain mate!
Don't know what sort of mower you have but even with my 3 wheeled petrol powered weed-whacker and mulcher that i have to steer, push and pull from the back, a lot of the time, it is tiring and makes you sweat. I have just done the first tank of fuel and done about 1/4 of what there is to do. Hate it. It's always a two day job unless I go at it like mad, then it takes all of one day. and about 4 tanks. Then I have to rest for two days!
Wot if your knee locks up when you are up the ladder? No brainer - get an experienced brush hand and instruct him/her to do a quality job.Morning All

My "er indoors" sounds like yours in that respect and God help me if when cutting around all her trees and flower beds, if I accidentally allow cuttings to go into a flower bed. so it involves the big machine, then the strimmer to do the bits it won't can't do then a little Stihl batt powered thing, but i leave the last thing to her!! she has managed to have trees with low branches that she absolutely can't cut so I can't get under them any sense! We planted 47 fruit trees, as well as 2 weeping willows, 2 Poplars and an oak. It is the fruit trees, especially the apple trees that are the worst.Oh my place is pretty small compared to your French estate. I just put the ladders up the wall and tried to go up and down. Very tortuous and the crepitus from the knee was alarming (like rifle shots inside the knee). And most of the place is on a slope, some of which is pretty steep.
I do hope all your cycling isn't making your knee worse, although I don't doubt it could in fact be doing the opposite.
Do take it easy mate!! up them ladders!
