Done very nearly nuffin today.
Just started trying to work out what I need to do to wire/plug in my old head unit from my Anniversary Disco 1 into my disco 2 which, until the tape jammed, had a Kenwood jobbie in it.
The ISO blocks look un-interfered with but I don't know if I dare just shove em in hoping that going from LR HU to another LR HU would be safe or not.
Tried to follow the wiring diags on RAVE but obvs they are for the NAS thing and I do not know which radio I have got although I am fairly sure.
Frankly I get so bored and mind-fecked by electrickery that I suffer a "helmet fire" (NOOO. Don't go there, think jet-fighter pilot instead) in no time at all. How DO peeps get on with all this? Give me a piece of French philosophy to translate ANY time!
And obvs I don't know what type of head unit was in the D2 originally.
It still beats the sh!t out of me that I put the Blaupunkt headunit and CD player in the D1 without doing anything to the plugs on the back except reconnecting the CD player, using the original cables, in the middle, to save having to take the interior apart to do it.
I think I must have just naively plugged the ISOs in and miraculously it all worked, except the steering wheel controls obviously as there was no hole to shove that plug in, And the subs, btw.
One way to do it, which would be a bit laborious, would be to take the tarp off the D1, climb in, take the Blaupunkt out
:)mad::rolleyes:) then write down the colours and locations of all the wires on the plugs. Then go back to the D2 to see if the wiring is the same or if not how to make it the same!!
Wot also fecks me off is I feel so lazy about all this. This is actually all part of getting old. I really do suffer unbelievably with CBAsseditis, and prevaricationitis.
GRRRR! I really do need to take myself in hand!!!:(:(:(:(

Some days, we just need to recharge the batteries in prep' for a near future busy period. It's life, don't beat yourself up :)

Here, cleaned out and washed guttering, washed and refitted guttering hedgehog sausages, washed outside windows, doors and garage door, cleared oak leaves with leaf sucker, put up outdoor Christmas lights and snowflake projectors. Then went to use leaf sucker one last time and...feck me, it's turned itself into a leaf blower!! What's going on there...just why??:eek:o_O

Shower heads de-scaled along with the kettle ...

Tumble dryer repaired, £8 capacitor ...

Off to cook some pasta ..
Is it just me and my luck or is it common that a lot of electrical problems today are caused by dodgy capacitors?
They have gone wrong on me in a dishwasher, several complicated room stat thingies on our french underfloor heating, and summat else, forgotten what now!:(:(:( Oh yes, control unit on a V complex swimming pool controller, which does timing of pump, electrolyser etc etc.
To the point that now, if summat electrical fecks up first thing I do is look at the connections to any capacitor on the circuit board.

My old one had a switch that could make it blow both ways.
Just sayin.;)

My Mrs can’t complain about Motobike….
It’s hers that I take out :)
I find after 5 mins around Swindon roundabouts your realigned with life & idiots.

At least where @kevstar lives they put marks on the road for the bikes to follow so they don’t hit the walls/barrier/scenery

Morning All :D
A late start because I slept in. :)
A new Xmas tree (pre-wired/lit with both tri-colour LED's AND fibre-optic tufts) arrived last night.
We got it because the old (30 year) tree is getting too much to put up each year and store in the loft etc. etc.
Sadly, it has no control to change the pattern of the flashing. This is unlike every other led-light set we have (where you can choose the cadence etc. fro m a range of pre-sets).
So its a bit of a garish fit-inducing eyesore. :(
Have a great day.
