A thou is good enough for general turning. The 3 jaw on cheap a lathe should be better than +5 but anything you turn should be concentric as long as you do it all from one setup. As soon as you remove it, it will not go back in concentric. Get a collet chuck, they are fairly inexpensive for a mini lathe and run within a thou. ER40 chuck has a 25mm capacity, good for most small bar work.
For precision on larger stock use the 4 jaw as it will get easier to clock in with practice.
I have finished my wiring in the workshop so once it is approved I can start creating stuff once more :)
Thanks for this, much appreciated. Dan. :)

Got me new socks on today. More leef's fell over nite so we hoovurd em up wiv me mover before wuk. Bins full. It will be the last collection this year. If more fall eye will stick em at the bottom ov me garden oot the way. Used me brush ter gettid some of the leef's oft me soil under the tree's so we could hoover em up anorl.

Tis a nice time of year when yer leef's change colour. Yellow orange and red. Eye fink the tree's look nice wiv red leef's.
A property near Wimblowdriver Towers is a care home, they built a large car park a few months ago. They have got a numpty gardinger who turns up every couple of days with a 2-stroke engined blower strapped to his back, he turns loads of petrol into noise while blowing all the fallen leaves to the property boundaries. The wind blows them all back again so he has to keep doing it. They've got a lot of trees which are now shedding leaves at a rate of knots, wonder how long it will be before he gets a kick up the arris and has to actually sweep the leaves up and get rid of them.

We has a couple of blokes on the industrial estate where I wuks. They turns up twice a week and does a complicated quick step around each other to blow the leave up to the twuck, then they shifts em.
Half an hour later you wonder why they bothered :)

Slept awkwardly and the aches & pains of 2 back to back [pun] Chiropractor days have set in

The slobbery kissing Aunt who doesn't know when it's time to go home?

Afternoon my LZ (and only it seems) friends! The 90 performed flawlessly again today. It pulls the trailer effortlessly :)
The parents are not doing so well, it seems this pandemic has not helped their mental health.
If you have aged parents I urge you to stay in touch as much as you can. Even at 90+ it seems things can still overwhelm you :(
Take care and keep smiling!

... I just heard that a chap I know (a lovely warm, helpful and kind bloke that looked like a monster, but was the exact opposite) slipped & fell over during a night out and hit his head.
He died at the scene and leaves a wife and 4 kids to carry on alone. Awful at any time, but especially so these few weeks before Christmas. Life can be so cruel. :(
RIP Greg Chapman, you legend.

Sorry to hear that your folks are struggling. The whole lock down thing has produced so much disconnect with normality.

That is really sad. Although I don't know him, my thoughts go to his family.

I suggest it is time to pension off the 'gardener' who has absolutely no idea what he is doing. :( Someone needs to tell him that once the leaf piles have been assembled THEN these are picked up and suitably disposed off.
