We always go away for Christmas week.
With three dogs we go self-catering but we look forward to it like mad and really enjoy it.
Costs more than the weeks leading up to Xmas though.

We have done it since the early nineties to avoid family strife altho now there is only one part of the family near us to cause it, the rest are dead or have moved away!
If you are single then yes, why bother, but then if you are single it may be a bit mizz at home too. My dad was single and always used to go to the pub for Xmas lunch. Load of other singles there and he always had a right laugh

We do more miles in the Disco in France than we do in the UK. Oh and that would be mostly going to the Dales or whatever.wouldnt mind taking the landy to the alps.. 1800 mile round trip
