Anyone else wear compression socks? Pleeeeeeze?
I told my doc I was thinking of getting some for my DVT and should I order some the size of my calf when normal or the size it has swollen up to?
Also what pressure ones to get?
As usual the git was on holiday, but I got a message from the practice that his locum thought "It is a good idea":)rolleyes:) and with an appointment to see the nurse for fitting!
So, as per usual, yet more DIYM, and lack of joined up thinking.
Appt ain't till Friday and we are sailing on Weds week.
Will I get em in time?
Why can't they answer really simple questions?:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
And why the feck didn't they suggest this when it all kicked off over a month ago????:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

So can anyone tell me how to do all this? Please, pretty please, sugar on the top? Tons of?
As I despair of these twits!
I would be enormously gratefully, as would my left calf!!;);)

My Mrs says that she had hers measured and you get a prescription to get them. You should get them before you leave.

Feel for you:(, I hate being less than 100% (thats relative to age of course) but surely walking will help?
Oh and a bit of red wine never hurt anybody:D:D.

Thanks for this.
I too always hate it when yet another bit of me plays up, especially as my legs have always been a reliable part of me.
But then the DVT isn't really a leg problem other than that being where it is located, it's more of a blood problem. Well that is what I am telling myself!
Once it's gone I'll prolly not get another as it seems more and more likely I got it thanks to the jab.
We'll see!
And the wine is on prescription, (I wish!);););)

Afternoon folks:)

Right the weather has been cracking and just standing on a small step ladder to paint has been really kind on me knees:) That's all done now. Into big boy town tomoz for supplies. So that should leave me 2 days to get the guttering up, should mange that may even have a dip in between, as just checked the pool temp and its 24:).
Have also noted loads of honey bees sitting on the edges of the cover having a drink, thirsty work making honey:).

Friend of Ms arrives on Saturday so the bloke is gonna be outnumbered for a week:eek:.

We have a large saucer thingy that goes under flower pots and it's full of pebbles, we water it daily for the bees and other insects ...

Oh, and about the walking, I was told to "exercise lightly" and put my feet up as much as poss.
Which tend to be a bit diametrically opposite at the mo. I have been working almost all day!
But feet will go up all evening once I've cooked the dins.
French recipe, "poulet au whisky". Haven't done it for years, but always liked it before!
Yummy!:):):)

I thought compression socks were a device/ruse to help "prevent" a clot forming.
But, if you already have a clot does it:
a) Help prevent other/further clots forming.
b) Help dispel clots you already have.
Answers on a postcard.

My Mrs suffers from DVT's so wears them for prevention. Once you have them, they can reoccur without warning and you become prone to them (she says, not me as I don't have any!)
