is a bank holiday amnesty applicable on a sunday ? thought it was mondays and fridays
Whole ban holiday weekend which includes Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Friday too if it's included in the o'ficial calendar. That way we get to enjoy the whole bank holiday break.

the gaylanderers seem to be spending more time in the fender section than they do in the gaylander section.
Just nipped over to have a look round and see what's going on.

FREELANDERS RULE.

My Freelander is the bestist and has:

Leffer heated comfortable seats.
Comfortable suspension. My suspension is perfectly adequate.
Enough power to accelerate 0 to 60mph in 10 seconds. So does my V8 110
Brakes that actually work. 67 to 0mph in 4 seconds. Got them too
Space for 4 passengers to travel in comfort. I can carry 8 easily
Air conditioning (proper air con - not a hole in the bulkhead) Ya got me there
A heater that works. I have one of them too
Smooth auto gearbox with optional sport mode and manual shift. Auto's are for sceptics, proper drivers have a manual.
Headlights that actually light up the road ahead. So do I, 4 of them.
No rust. Just like my 110
A radio you can hear. Why would I need a radio when I have a V8 to listen to.
4 wheel drive. My 110 has proper 4 wheel drive, with a proper centre diff.
Electronic traction control. I don't need it, I have proper LSD's.
ABS. Unneccessary if you know how to cadence brake
Hill Descent Control. Unneccessary if you have a manual with low range box
Electronic Brake force Distribution. What?
Boot space big enough to put in everything I need. A boot 3 times the size of a Gaylanders.
A diagnostic socket I can use to fault find it. A multimeter does the same thing for me.
Electric windows and mirrors. Slidy windows and mirrors I never have to move
Roof bars so I can fit ma roof rack bars. A full roof rack that you can fit a gaylander onto
Go anywhere ability oft road. Now you are just being silly!
Enough power to tow a caravan if I want to be a snail. My V8 will tow the factory the caravan was built in!
Can actually steer round corners and follow the road ahead. So will mine now I have changed all the ball joints.
Doesn't have any water leaks. Ok, thats 2 for you.
Looks smart and is presentable. As is mine, but mine also looks like it can also be used to work hard & play hard.
Doors that dun't fall oft. Neither do mine now I have replaced the hinges.
Comfortable on long journeys. Just like mine.

Up yours tratterers. :p :bounce:
From what I have seen, there is nothing that a Gaylander can do that my 110 can't do better. Apart from keep you dry in winter and cold in the summer. ;):D

So yer 110 can stop from 67mph to 0 in 4 seconds?
And can get to 60 in 10 seconds?
control 1 sliding wheel with the brakes to try to gain grip? (ABS)
Apply power to wheels with grip rather than powering spinning wheels? (ETC)

...
Brakes that actually work. 67 to 0mph in 4 seconds. Most all disc Defenders will be just as good
Looks smart and is presentable. Personal opinion, more Defenders on the road so public opinion would disagree
...
Anyway, if I was going to buy a vehicle for the traits the Freelander supplies, I'd buy a Disco or Rangie.
Ma hippo's stopping with disks on the front and shoes on the rear. Only the Freelander 2 has 4 disc's. Would be interesting if someone could film a tratter emergency breaking so we could get an honest time.
Have you got any figures of how many Freelander are on the road? LR usually produce yearly sales figures but can't find them past 2000.

So yer 110 can stop from 67mph to 0 in 4 seconds? Yes, when I have the road tyres fitted. The brakes were uprated at the same time as the engine.
And can get to 60 in 10 seconds? Yes, provided I limit the wheel spin. My V8 has been tweaked and is putting out between 200-220 bhp. I can get all 4 wheels spinning if too quick on the clutch.
control 1 sliding wheel with the brakes to try to gain grip? (ABS) I have never had that problem, the CDL and LSD's keep any wheel speed differences to almost nothing
Apply power to wheels with grip rather than powering spinning wheels? (ETC) I have mechanical LSD's that do the same thing.

well tuther night on me way home dry road but rough and lots of dust dried mud on em (single lane track_ I was doing 30mph ish when a bint in a posh beemer came rounf corner at a similar speed I stamped on brakes and drove up onto grass verge. and got about 5ft past front of beemer. But in me defense I had a load of air still in calipers from having replaced calipers discs and pads recently. Have now re bled em and got all the air out  and she stops much much better. But ya int gonna stop a 110 that's shifting, in a short distance. If the brakes are really good you'll nose dive at the front, lift the back end and slide if you stand on the brakes or if brakes are " so so" you just won't stop in time. So we compensate by keeping bigger gaps and been more observant of what other traffic is doing.

There's no point comparing a gaylander with a traccta. GL is a family estate car with 4wd (when VCU & IRD int fooked) Tractta is a 4x4 large van. (CSW is just a van derived car)

Not sure how you're defending defenders there:) you nearly crashed cos the brakes are ****! Didn't bleed the brakes properly? Isn't that a well documented issue with fenders, people doing bad diy cos they're simple to work on? So I get from that that a freelander is better:)
