i've just been told i've gorra go into office as of next week, even though my dad (who is staying with me) is self isolating in order to start radiotherapy next week
As we have discovered with dottir's present situation , vis-a vis employment and Covid, make sure you document all communication with your company over this. i.e. send emails so they can't say they didn't know.
If there is no real reason why you cannot zoom meet etc and carry on working from home, they have to have a bloody good reason for it. Especially in your circumstances, which they must know about.
Dottir's case is going to tribunal soon. Not just over Covid but it will be part of the case.
Best of luck mate.:):):):):)

Eye go to wuk 5 days a week but keep away from peeps. There's an increased risk of gerrin it while being in wuk so I thought I would get the test kit as 1 int 3 peeps who have walrus dun't have any symptoms. That may or may not be only in the early stages. If yer gorrit yer can spread it. We have had peeps at wuk who have had it but certain peeps hide it from us. I have done many national survey tests before and been clean but the kit is free so may as well have a go.
I used one before I was then instructed to get a "proper" one done. If you are like me you might find a lolly stick or a tongue depressor handy!

I have (I hope) fixed the guttering-leaks on the side of the house (1 opened joint and one gap between two discrete sections).
I also bought all the guttering elements for the mini-barn (£130 ), and I will try and get that done as soon as the weather permits.
Grandkids 15:15 till 17:45  and then some poor sod has to drive them all across town to their house....I wonder who will get that job in the rush-hour?
On a more positive note..... I reckon a few more hours of actual work will have the mini-barn finished and we can re-occupy the space. :)
Have to get the airlock fixed then!
(Sounds like part of the space station)

I'd meet your doctor and ask his 'advice' on the situation. You can't lose anything. At this stage you would have to ask for a quick appointment though.:)
Quite, and/or, go with your dad to HIS doctor and get him to write a letter to your employer.
Then if anything went wrong your company wouldn't have a leg to stand on. But I am only too aware how blind companies are to all this, none as blind as those who don't want to see.
But it would only be a temporary continuation of theses circs, it's not as if you are asking to stay at home permanently.

Wifey and I have had a long chat about what could have set this DVT off and we have come to the conclusion that it is me sitting immobile for too long at a time in my easy chair balancing the laptop and extra keyboard on a big chopping board on my legs.
It is true that what with one thing and another i haven't being doing much exercise lately.
So an exercise regime will start as soon as this clot goes. (Feckin hate what i call "unnatural" excercise, i.e that not gained naturally through work or leisure pursuits. Exercise for the sake of it. So i will have to take up a leisure pursuit! At least only in the UK as in France I get it naturally doing what we do all the time on the land etc.)
Feckin Covid, Feckin Brexit!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
We'd be there now it it wasn't for this!
So @Hicap phill how do you cope keeping clear of this seeing as how you are in one of the jobs where this is a danger>?

I should think getting up and walking round every 20 minutes rather than staying put in one pose/place would really help. :)
You could get a "sit in a chair" cycle trainer to move the legs and get the blood flowing even though you are at your PC at a table perhaps?
I spend too much time at my desk and I get pin-prick blood marks on my ankles as a result. I do like the exercise at the gym which certainly helps a lot.
How's your BP? I am managing 107/63 @ 73BPM and I have not taken any of the prescribed medications for about a year now.

Wifey did mention the little cycle trainer thing we have gathering dust in the loft, it was bought for her after her hip op and she used it for about 5 mins!
So good call!
Your BP and pulse is way fit, they did my BP yessdi and it is ok, and my pulse is about 72 so that's OK too.
The thing is that i have never really had to make an effort to look after myself much over the years, I have been blessed, up till now, with a bod that seems to look after itself pretty well, apart form the back injury. So I think i have been riding for a fall without even realising it.
I spend far more time looking after Wifey with all her problems!
Anyway, what doesn't kill you does you good!
Cheers!

Try to sit on a dining room type chair at a table instead. And gerrup every 15 minutes and walk round the house or up/down the stairs to get yerself moving.

Would be fun to gerra penguin and go swimming in the local pond wivvit each day but someone might nick yer towel.

He's not strictly correct. Weeds are often very nice plants but they just choose to grow in the wrong places. Watch out Edgar!:D
I try not to discuss it with him as the conversation gets a bit too deep. Also there's a new book out about plants being social and having feelings. He wants me to get him a paperback copy. He will have to settle for the screwfix catalogue.
