Guid afternoon
Brilliant afternoon not just because sun is shining and taps are definately aff
but also because I started and finished painting my checker plate, but also
11/2 hour call with HMRC to negate having to return a self assessment ! Im PAYE for christ sakes
Worth the pain to find out the Tax man owes me £2273 result. So as a celebration you are all invited
to my place for as much drink as you can pour down your necks.

Cheers!
and have one on me!!!:):):)

Well spent part of the day sanding, painting, checking, seeing where I didn't fill in wiv plaster well enough:rolleyes::mad:
So let it dry while I tried to chase down new rad valves caps.
Started with the bag of 10 from Screwfix, Holdfast is the make and they are sh!te with a capital S.
After two just bruk, despite careful handling I went and got my money back, then had a drive to a couple of local plumbers suppliers neither of whom had even heard of the make and neither of whom could furnish me with the necessary.
So having meanwhile put up a thread on this and got some good replies....i have decided to do nothing with them and just carry on as I have for years!
Result! In a weird way!
Lovely and sunny here, but still not too warm.
Have nice evening folks!
:):):):)

Winnings? there ain't any. The water which escaped clocked up on the meter, they adjusted me account so it cost me nowt.
Ah so they billed you for it and you ain't paid it.
Get you now, what a shame!:(
Got our Froggy electric bill today, don't know what they've done but it isn't too bad.
Tis a shame to have to pay electric for when you can't even get there.

A whole day on the garden project and another 8 yard skip filled to the brim with concrete and topsoil.
Garden is completely scalped and will look like the Somme after the very first rain-shower. :(
All fences have been torn out in preparation for re-placement.
My prediuction to them that if you don't have a plan and order stuff early/in advance you end up with "no stock/no delivery slots available" has come true.
I didn't do project management without understanding the critical path analysis stuff and pre-req's.
TBH I am a bit pi$$ed off. Tom and I have worked non-stop since 08:30 until 17.45.
Cups of tea/coffee/orangeade offered? (only 2). Lunch? A taxi delivered KFC.
It's like we are responsible for it all and my son and his wife are just happy bystanders.
FFS, it ISN'T MY garden, it isn't my house. Why am I sucked in and working for free? /rant.

I think we have been here before with this. :(
Maybe you should start to charge him, then he might get the message. ;)
And imagine if you had a call out charge, for all those "emergencies".
Feel your pain mate!:(:(:(

Because you're a mug who doesn't say no I'm afraid. You can say no as easily as saying yes you know

Not the best of days today.

I found out that the chap who'd agreed to join the company as my junior has decided that he doesn't want the job anymore, so it looks like I'll be supporting 5 offices around the world (literally!) by myself.

Someone previously commented "out of the frying pan in to the fire" and they were right. :(

At the moment I can't see this job working out in my favour but I'll hang around and do what I can until they decide that the situation isn't working.

But as the position exists, insist they find another victim happy recruit and do part of the interviewing yourself to make sure its someone you like and can work with.
