I had a play on the wood lathe today as I can't get the mill moved until the weekend.

I'm back from me interview which went well, I think.

I did get the impression that they are looking for more than just a helpdesk administrator as they were asking fairly technical questions and whether I would be happy with traveling o_O It does sound very much like going from the frying pan in to the fire though as @derwendolly suggested earlier.

Anyway, it's done and I just need to wait to hear back from them.

Would you get a badge and uniform with the job? If so, go for it. Any job without a nice badge isn’t worth considering :)

Just wait and see, then you can make your mind up one way or t'other. :)

Had to go to scroofix today for another clamp thing. And as I needed a replacement plug socket for the dining room I gotted a new one while I was there. And just to launch myself another inch into the 21st century, I got one with built in usb charger n sockets. Works anorl :D.

Is there such a job?
There was. I had it for 13 years. But it did take its toll.
Still...I got the mortgage paid off 7 years early and put a big wedge in the bank though.
I gave it up after the heart-attack and the new-hip requirement, else I could still be there coining it, instead of living a life as a pension-pauper like I am now. ;)
Still money isn't everything and i think everyone should look to work only until they have their F.U. Money sorted. ;)
Wise words ..here.

Prince Charles?
Hmm!
Maybe shaking the hands of lots of peeps and "opening" things ain't that interesting.
And the smell of new paint must get up your nose after a while.

I know some people don’t like the royals, but calling Charlie a job is harsh.

He flew in to my humble island years ago to visit his favourite distillery. I would have said he landed here, but that would have been a stretch of the imagination ;)

Quite!
Best thing I ever did was to meet Wifey when I was separated from my ex. she had already bought her ex out, we then proceeded for me to buy mine out. Her's was an interest only mortgage as that was all she couold afford, and i bought mine out on a 100% mortgage, so a big gamble.
We had two mortgages but were able to rent one place out.
She started to earn shedloads, I earned enough, so we were able to convert the mortgages to normal ones eventually. The rent eventually nearly paid the mortgage off but the other good thing was the mortgage rate dropped through the floor and we kept the payments at the same level so, as you say, paid the mortgages off early. And the other house, plus dosh we had saved, paid for France.
Sometimes think about writing a book on "How to survive divorce financially.", cos there is a bit more to it than this!;)
